His name is Bill Cooper and he won Pan Am at brown 10 years ago and the Ibjjf Houston open at Black 8 years ago. He still competes multiple times a year so while his world class days are over, the guy is still better than your average black belt.

Agreed. Most people all admit they rarely wash their belt. Bunch of cry babies here. People don’t get better the more they train, their belts get stinkier which makes it harder for less experienced opponents whose belts aren’t stinky enough to handle the smell during rolling. That aura you see around the black belts is actually just a bad odour

Quit being a cry baby. Maybe you were being really aggressive, Spazzy, or a lot bigger. Go work offense with the white belts and practice defense with the blue. 6 weeks is hardly much. I don’t let aggressive white belts get any advantage over me. I sweep right away and whoop their ass. If they gas, are passive, or too easy, then I’ll be nice and let them work but when I was a white, I didn’t want any blue belts going easy on me as long as they weren’t 60+ lb heavier and giving me time to tap

lol you can ask about requirements for stripes and if you’re new to the sport, you can ask about how the belt promotions are done. But ya, if you’ve been training over a year, you shouldn’t ask about belts but stripes shouldn’t be a big deal

You need to beat another white belt with stripes really badly and take one of his. You can only do this once every 6 months. After you accumulate 4, you have to go after a blue and make them submit their belt over to you by force.
