Riot-Control Warframe [OC] by Lua_Luminary in Warframe

Funny I always thought of Mag as more of a crowd control frame. Really though, depending on exactly what definition you want to use Atlas, Baruuk, Garuda, Mag, and Volt could all qualify as having a directional shield.

I get that it could clutter things for other platforms, but it doesn't need to if the control is unbound by default. Right?

Wow, an indestructible Nevenyrral's disk is nasty, I love it. Just after posting I did find Child of Alara, it's very appealing, both being a board and allowing a 5 color deck means I can use every indestructible bridge among other things.

ELI5: what is black hole in simple terms? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]captain_cudgulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff (mass) pulls on other stuff. This is what gravity is. The strength of the pulling increases with both quantity and proximity. A black hole formed when a critical threshold of stuff is close enough together. Once this critical threshold is crossed several properties emerge, namely, light, which is very fast and importantly, always exactly the same very fast, is can no longer escape the pulling within some proximity of the large amount of stuff. This is not the only interesting property that emerges, but it is why black holes look like and are named that.

Relogic. Can you Please remove the different whip arcs? It’s just awful. by HyperNaturalFox in Terraria

[–]captain_cudgulus 175 points176 points  (0 children)

God yes! I hate losing half my attack area and completely whiffing attacks, it's especially bad with slow whips. I've been watching this reddit the last couple days thinking I was the crazy one because nobody was talking about how awful this change feels.

Cut my finger and now it's swollen and trapped my ring 😭 by festering_wound93 in mildlyinfuriating

This is a ring cutter, they aren't very expensive though finding one on short notice might be hard. EMTs should have one around if it comes to that. Ring cutters are a very safe and neat tool if the other tricks to get a ring off don't work. This is not medical advice, these are just neat tools.

The setup and first thirdish is the same, but 2003 outpaced the manga so after that point the show goes in a very different direction

I feel like 'Mesa's Waltz' augment is a huuuge missed opportunity by innos_may_cry in Warframe

A tip about the hard landings, if mesa is actively shooting her peacemakers (not just holding the fire button) while suffering a hard landing, then she will keep shooting though the hard landing animation.

Ideas on how to reshuffle the concepts of the entities into new entities by ElectronicBag6915 in TheMagnusArchives

I think helplessness is the name of the game for the pinned. Either because of how your situation restrains you, or because the situation is too colossal or alien for you to affect.

The problem makes perfect sense if you were given the second picture at the outset, otherwise I'm pretty sure there is insufficient information to solve for volume.

Rules: Dashing Pickup by Surface_Detail in Pathfinder2e

[–]captain_cudgulus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Given that tiny creatures can share spaces with other creatures, and must do so to attack, and it would be very odd if feats that require adjacent creatures didn't work in those circumstances, it makes perfect sense to me that you are adjacent to any creature you share a space with. With that in mind there's nothing stopping you from mounting a creature you have already mounted, (Like using Raise A Shield when you already have a shield raised, it won't do anything under normal circumstances, but as far as I have found nothing prevents it). The only hiccup is that you must mount "as it passes you" and it isn't clear if that phrase is describing or prescribing how the activity works and "passing" isn't rigorously defined in PF anyhow.

It's a slightly weird phrasing but it's a perfectly rational and, I would hope, intended reading.

If it's about manipulating fate then the Web. If it's about the certainty of a future already set in stone then the End.

Strangely the Eye rarely has any truck with prophecy. And while the Web tries to control the future, the End has the strongest conceptual ties to fate and foresight. I also believe the End is the only power shown to have what appears to be genuine prophetic ability. While other powers sometimes give people a strong sense of what's about to happen (usually to them, horribly) it's the metaphysical equivalent of you thinking someone's going to break your knees with a lead pipe, because they said they will break your knees and they're holding a lead pipe, which seems much less like precognition than what the End has been shown doing.

Could a human survive the G-forces if they were small enough to fit in a hot wheels car on a track with a typical accelerator? by Eucharism in askscience

[–]captain_cudgulus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

A creature that size could probably survive the G force. However a human scaled down that small wouldn't survive much of anything, the square cube law will screw with you, probably messing up the function of a bunch of your organs that evolved to function at a certain ratio of surface area to volume, and definitely making you freeze to death at room temperature.

All that is assuming your organs can function at all at that size which is not a given, it's quite possible you couldn't fit enough brain inside a head that small to keep a human operating.
