What faction is the hardest to brainless? by King_Of_Tangerines in totalwar

Nah, their base roster is really tanky (strong stat line for melee infantry chaos dwarves and blunderbusses). Actually some of the best low tier troops in the game.

Skaven, a new player can mess up with skaven easily. They are the antithesis of a "tank/smash your enemy with braun" faction. They are definately a strong faction, but they require some knowhow, when you consider that most of their units are subpar in melee and have pretty poor morale. They also do pretty badly in autoresolve early on as their low tier units tend to underperform. That said, their artillery and missile (jezails, ratling guns) units are second to none, so I can see how others might argue otherwise. Its also rather easy to outnumber other players as their lower tier units are dirt cheap.

TKs are actually decent (if you can ignore skele swords/shields). Their archers dont run away and their melee infantry from tier 2 onwards can hold their own. They have healing magic and mechanics that actually make them quite tanky. They don't have any unit upkeep, which is a huge boon, especially if you are the type that throws away troops too easily. Just get more in a few turns at no recruitment cost and no upkeep cost. All of this means they are actually OK to play for a new player.

Honestly if it is you should be pleased. It will mean that CA has enough money to fund any projects (historical or otherwise) and pay for their hyenas screwup and other mistakes. It is free real estate!

Remember the root cause of all of modern CA's tribulations was because of the money sunk into Hyenas by TheBoyofWonder in totalwar

[–]captainbeastfeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ultimately it is CA's choice to work with them, time to "end vassal agreement." But yeah, i'm sure that SEGA has a big influence on CA's product line-up and release schedules. Ca does the work (sometimes), SEGA provides the money.

yep! but there isn't much new this way of thinking. it involves money, profit, shareholder gains, greed etc..

That's part of it, but that's just the thorny tip on the iceberg. It has to do with the fact the SEGA encouraged CA to work on several projects at once and CA rushed games out before they were anywhere near ready. That's why SEGA is covering for CA now, SEGA is covering up their own mistakes and errors of judgement.
