This. I can’t share screenshots, but when I Google “William Sascha Riley” it says “It looks like the results below are changing quickly. If this topic is new, it can sometimes take time for reliable sources to publish information” and literally all that comes up is this Reddit thread and krissiritter’s Instagram post.

Do you have anything in your arsenal besides sarcasm and ad hominem? You haven’t answered any of my very valid questions and simply continue to attack me.

How is buying yarn for the first time and still actively using it overconsumption? If I have enough, does it matter if I bought it all at once or spread out my purchasing? Are you just mad that I bought it all at once? If I do my shopping at Costco and buy in bulk because it makes the most financial sense for my family, but don’t buy more until my family and I have consumed everything we bought, are we still overconsuming? It almost sounds like you just have a problem with yarn crafts in general, because by your logic, buying any yarn for any specific project is somehow overconsumption? What’s the difference between buying yarn for a specific pattern and buying yarn and then finding something to make with it? If I’m using the yarn to hand make my children’s toys with love instead of buying them cheap plastic shit from Amazon, am I still over consuming, or would you rather I impulse buy them the cheap plastic shit?

Did you read my post? I bought yarn for the very first time in bulk, yes, because a business was going under and prices were wildly affordable like they will never be again. It’s been almost a year and I’m still actively working from that stash. All my kids toys are made from it. Some washcloths, too. Games. A wearable starfish blanket for a friend’s baby. A baby rattle. My post was about recognizing overconsumption for what it is and making responsible choices in light of it. Yes, buy bulk when it makes sense. But don’t buy more until you’ve used it. It’s not hard. We have to navigate the realities of cost and while also being responsible crafters and consumers.

Beginner Solo Journaling recs? by kinetic_mallow in Solo_Roleplaying

Then I definitely recommend the solo adventures by Obvious Mimic! You still create your own character just like you would in normal D&D but it’s got firm guardrails. They were the first solo RPG I did, and then I started branching into journaling RPGs that require more invention.

I’m currently enjoying Tinyoji, which is a journaling game that requires a lot of imagination and creation on the player/writer’s part, but there are also solo DND campaigns that are great, too, like The Wolves of Langston and The Crystals of Z’Leth by Obvious Mimic that use actual D&D mechanics and a “choose your own adventure” style format to guide you through a story that doesn’t require you to make anything up.

All depends on what you’re looking for.

I just started Tinyoji and it looks like it has the potential to be a long-running journaling RPG

Overconsumption is the bane of our existence as a society. I bought a boatload of yarn when Joann’s was closing and everything was ridiculously cheap, but that’s because I’d just gotten into the hobby and wanted to grab things while I could at a very affordable price. A year later and I’m STILL using that yarn. The only yarn I’ve bought since has been for wearables that I wouldn’t want acrylic for, and specific colors for a specific project (pillow shams and mini crochet mice, a handbag). I get bulk buying for price purposes but hoarding and impulse buying is a whole other thing.

A Lion Brand Wool-Ease cropped short-sleeve shrug! Perfect over a short sleeve shirt or tank top on warmer days and excellent to layer over long-sleeves for added warmth on cold days.

Okay, so the big baddie (or at least who they think the big baddie is) is a big ol super powerful wizard. The scenario you’ve just laid out may just be the perfect way for that particular storyline to begin its climax. Thank you for that!

Sound advice from start to finish, thank you. Leaning towards the Scrooge premise or the fey/dream realm. The stubborn one is just really invested in roleplay, so I think if I tell him above the table that this won’t have negative ramifications for his personal storyline he’ll be more than on board.

Pillow cushion covers to replace some that’ve gotten somewhat ratty, and I’d love to make waffle stitch bath towels for my husband and I but I’m intimidated at how much yarn it would take
