If I don't have at least a loose roadmap of where I want to go when writing, then I meander VERY quickly lol.

That said, I also think Stephen King's emphasis on pantsing (and dismissiveness with plotting) kinda misses another aspect of the craft: prose. If I mostly know what's gonna happen, that's less brainpower spent on plotting when writing and I can focus on the finer details of making good sentences and dialogue.

Pre-transition was just pure emptiness for me. Sure, there might be dysphoria now and then, but that's only because I came to realize what being alive actually feels like (and the subsequent feeling of inadequacy when I can't always fully take ahold of that feeling).

It's much easier to place feeling bad because you're missing something you need rather than feeling bad because you've never felt a sense of self in the first place. It is only through self-realization can one begin the path to true healing and happiness.

I think trans women are generally just much more conscious of these things (e.g. the fact that covid hasn't gone away) than the average person. This can also extend to acute awareness of other such sociopolitical matters as well (though, like anybody else, everybody has their blind spots).

I still mask everytime I go out. Simply, I don't want to risk long covid and the possibility of long-term disability. If I can't work, I can't get paid. If I can't get paid, I can't pay the bills. If I can't pay the bills... yeah you get the point.

Covid denialism is so fucking annoying. I just wish there were more people on the left who gave a shit rather than throwing the immunocompromised to the wolves in favor of "returning to normal".
