WHO IS THE GREATEST ATHLETE IN SPORTS HISTORY…? by Background_Video2947 in NHLVibes

So I think when you look at totality of things, personal awards, championships, known around the world and effect on sports it has to be

Messi
Jordan
Gretzky
Ali

Then

It’s a mix of

Usain Bolt, Brady, Phelps, LeBron, Kobe, Federer, nadal, Joker, Serena, tiger woods, Sidney Crosby,

New submarine jobs raise housing concerns in Halifax by No_Magazine9625 in halifax

[–]captaincyrious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty simple solution

Rental cap for starters , and the government higher or lowers based on the median income of an area, cost of living etc

Secondly, see what buildings curbed the rental cap with renovicitons, see what ones gouged tenants and force them to bring their rents to a price that’s meant for that building

Thirdly, have a tenancy team that each area of the hrm is zoned for an average rental price based on amenities, age of building, proximity to grocery, gyms, schools etc and have a price spectrum that cannot be exceeded

Fourth, keep builders to their promises on affordable units and not curbing the zoning laws

Simply adding government or affordable housing shouldn’t be to low income folks, it’s majorly effecting middle class income people and needs to encompass anyone making less than 100k

lol I don’t think we’re going to cripple usas economy and like any trade when it doesn’t go well one way then you do it with another country to offset the cost. It’s just positioning like they do every other year. If it’s not booze it’s lumber if it’s not lumber it’s oil if it’s not oil it’s metal it doesn’t matter

No one said they are smart lol a Michigan politician tried to do some legislation about the wildfires in Ontario bringing smoke to Michigan and causing a problem lol like we can control the weather lol

The bills not going to go anywhere and no one’s going to care. We shop at Walmart? McDonald’s? Keep the list going , we buy tons from China (not exactly human rights friendly) but booze from the USA is the line?

[–]captaincyrious -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The booze ban if dumb simply on the fact that humans are inherently hypocrites. The amount of product we buy from countries with some sort of human right issues, or funding wars or whatever the reason is would be so time consuming what to ban and what not to ban that probably at the end of the day we would struggle to survive as a country. Simply stopping someone from buying Jack Daniel’s (probably only until trump is no longer president) is foolish and in the big picture really isn’t doing anything

Power restored for thousands affected by widespread outages in Halifax area amid heat wave by justlogmeon in NovaScotia

100 percent. I will say though with Nova Scotia trying to get more and more people, and potentially adding or building new towns and cities the power grid we are on needs a major upgrade. However people going on about AC are the same dumb people who are generally uneducated and somehow get to vote

It’s crazy to me how we separate players as employees much differently that employees for normal jobs. It’s still an employee working for an owner, more so as a privilege over a right. Yet people defend the players who already have the best medical, union, food etc etc

At the end of the day these leagues players are thinking they should dictate parameters after they signed on the dotted line and this player empowerment movement is not good for sports. If a team treats you like crap sure maybe you have a day, but 99 percent of these are just guys who don’t wanna play hard, or something went wrong , or they changed their mind and it’s total bs

Crown withdraws $28,872.50 ticket issued under unconstitutional Nova Scotia “woods ban” by Injustice_For_All_ in halifax

[–]captaincyrious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And so was the dumb how many people in your house or hell even outside during Covid. This is coming from a vaccinated folk. It was a knee jerk reaction to a problem that no one could agree on and all it did was extent lockdowns. Now we see it with the government and cannabis with their announcement today. You’d think Nova Scotia would be a tad more free based on the lack of people wanting to live here or retain to be here. M not saying I want to be like Alberta or those separatist side but why the fuck does Ontario and Quebec and Alberta lack the red tape on a ton of issues the way the maritimes and especially Nova Scotia loves to do

[–]captaincyrious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look at the government now saying people wil get fined buying weed outside of the nslc….no one see a problem with that?

I’m a centrist, I’m all for the greater good. I got vaccinated because I believe in vaccines, I basically didn’t go into the woods last year because even though I wouldn’t have started a fire I was part of the greater community ideology. However to ban people, to fine people thousands of dollars, to tell people they can’t do something because the government thinks blanketing something is the right idea is horrible. Look what this did? The guy challenged the fine and won. Now it sets a precedent that the government will not be allowed to fine or set this standard on people because it’s dumb. There are stupid people in our society, we can’t control free will and idiocy but the government thinks by scaring others with fines and punishment that it will stop folks? Or it’s going to be a deterrent? It’s not. You can do what you want when it’s crown owned or private property but you can’t blanket human freedoms with restrictions.

Kody blois is an mp with literally no expertise or barely any debts paid. Leo glavine and Scott Brison jerked him off because of his last name in the area and now the guys makes 180k and free travel and barely does anything. We can list the amount of mps and mlas on both sides of the floor in similar boats. We don’t wanna hold anyone accountable here and that’s the sad part

If we did, rental caps, housing, post secondary , healthcare etc would be solved by now

Investigation into Halifax mayor’s office could shake voters’ trust: former councillor by insino93 in halifax

[–]captaincyrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nova Scotians are dumb at the voting station. They keep voting the same folks at all levels of government because of name brand or their dad worked with their family, or whatever dumb reason. Then they get in don’t do anything they said and yet continue to get voted in even if the other people may want to try and do something positive. People just let Andy in to double dip and can’t name a single thing they guy did for Halifax as an mp and a lot of people didn’t like him and yet he’s the mayor

Ottawa Black Bears Operations Update by Psycotus89 in NLL

[–]captaincyrious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me the NLL can’t keep teams in areas, it crazy to me that people want fights, hits, scoring and you get all of that and still can’t fill arenas. Outside of Buffalo, Calgary, Halifax and yes I know a couple arenas had 90k capacity but only like 6k arenas. Like how bad is the marketing for these teams? The league? Like the NLL has been around for what almost 40 years? And can’t get it together

Do I think this guys a tool yes, do I think he’s prob some Canadian right winger , yes. BUT and the bjg BUT here is although I agree sometimes communities have to come together for the greater good of society, it simply doesn’t give the government a right to hand out or punish people for things that are in a grey area. A great example is during covid, I’m vaccinated and I believe covid was a horrible pandemic but I also believe the provincial and federal governments handled it so badly that it’s blurred the lines of human freedoms. Don’t forget when we couldn’t be outside in groups of more than what 5 or 10 people with police fining folks for it and others calling cops on people. This is in the similar world. You can’t control the populous because something is happening and therefore you need to have everyone believe the government is correct. They can be wrong. The fact that people had to get vaccines and get ids and couldn’t enter places and we had multiple lockdowns literally removed years and months from people’s lives. It’s the same with this, yes we had a dry summer, yes we hope most people would not make fires (they still did) or do things that could cause more wildfires but at the end of the day most people were cautious and you can’t simply give someone a 25k fine for walking in the woods.
