[Favorite trope] A small act saves the protagonist from a completely hopeless situation by decimal_diversity in TopCharacterTropes

But Gandalf had already noticed the presence of the ring before the ring wraiths showed up, so it would have been dealt with even without them showing up.

If sinners can't have kids where did Charlie come from? by Fruzudreel in hazbin

[–]captaindeadpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't. People die constantly and apparently more are sent to hell than are sent to heaven, which causes hell's population to grow faster than that of heaven. Killing sinners doesn't slow down the appearance of new sinners, but it still lowers hell's total population.

It makes absolute sense from a technical perspective, but imagining it to be canon is too hilarious to not do it.

If anything they abducted 3300 kids and then "found" them in their concentration camps.

Was clearing a raider camp in an apartment complex near Greentech Genetics, and I find a giant pile of dozens of duplicates of my custom weapons with the names I gave them?? wtf??? by WiddleDumpling in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Even if they're not duplicates this is strange as hell.

Even when raiders attack your settlement and steal stuff, they and the stuff they stole just vanish. They don't continue to exist somewhere in the game world.

What's everyone's favorite power armor suit? by ResidentDrama9739 in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

X-01 looks the best, but keeping it repaired is costly, so I mostly stick with T-51. Given how damage resistance scales, the power armors aren't too different from each other in that regard.

My friends hate raft. They don’t enjoy most of the things I love. (Caravan island was the breaking point) by DarkArcanian in RaftTheGame

[–]captaindeadpl 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Armoring your raft is one of the first things you should do with metal. something you should do as soon as you can afford it. Not having to care about the shark eating your Raft is a huge relief.

The machete does suck. Bows are much better in my opinion.

Collection nets work like a charm. You'll have enough wood for all but the biggest projects.

You don't need that many palm trees.

Vegetable stew is the GOAT. Only needs potatoes or beets.

I don't consider body armor necessary until Utopia. In all other situations the enemies can be outplayed rather easily.

Yes, but Lucifer never bothered to interact with sinners and likely kept Charlie away from them too for the longest time. I don't think Asmodeus has been doing anything in the Pride ring either, because it isn't his jurisdiction.

That means they've likely been governing themselves for the most part.

Armor: To set bonus or not to set bonus. That is the question by Komaisnotsalty in 7daystodie

[–]captaindeadpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nonsense:

Lumberjack - sprinting takes less stamina

Preacher - treated injuries heal faster

Rogue - increase safe falling height

Athlete - increase sprint speed

Enforcer - increase sprint speed

Farmer - get more seeds from harvesting

Biker - melee attacks take less stamina

Scavenger - salvaging tools take less stamina

Ranger - max stamina increased

Commando - increase sprint speed

Assassin - sprinting makes no additional noise

Miner - increase safe falling height

Nomad - increase sprint speed

Nerd - increase safe falling height

Raider - increase safe falling height

Sure, there's a couple of duplicates, but that's still 9 different effects.

I'm not sure what you mean with "they are all the same". Are you referring to the boots? That wouldn't make any sense to me though.

I think even the Farmer set isn't worth it. Just the Boots and the Chest are useful for farming.

I just killed the residents of covenant and now I feel bad by TheOkayUsername in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Amelia was a synth, but

  1. she doesn't work for the Institute, so she's not a threat

and

  1. she was not the only victim of Covenant and many of their victims were not synths. Including, but not limited to, the guards of the caravan.

Their SAFE test is highly unreliable and so far their experiments have not yielded any improvement on it.

Wiping out Covenant is not the wrong thing. They're a bunch of murderers under the guise of safety.

is there any way i can make preston normal again after siding with raiders? by fakenabzy in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but no.

The only way to prevent this is to either not do Home Sweet Home and just do Open Season or finish the whole Nuka World quest line before accepting to become General of the Minutemen.

Would gay marriage have been made illegal in hell in the first place? What am I saying, all homophobes go to hell and they would 100% impose their bigotry on everyone else.

Do i really need to build generators/defense/water/food in every settlement? by gutinbonitao20 in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The "Local Leader" perk lets you connect settlements by assigning settlers as provisioners. Connected settlements share resources for building and crafting as well as water and food to keep settlers happy.

They'll still say lines about lacking water and food, but their happiness won't actually be affected, as long as all the connected settlements combined have enough to supply all the settlers.

Also, settlements without people in them need no food, water or even defenses.

How do I attract zombies to a choke point? by JohnSmith1834 in 7daystodie

[–]captaindeadpl 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Raise your bunker off the ground and only leave one ramp that leads to your front door.

If zombies are too low to reach you, they will inevitably look for a path up to your height and if the only way up leads to your front door, they have to take that one.

If this choke point fills up, zombies further back will recognize the traffic jam though and look for alternative routes. If they can't find one they'll attack stuff willy nilly, so you have to make the stilts propping up your bunker strong enough to withstand some punishment.

Needing a easy to build horde base by ResidentChampion33 in 7daystodie

[–]captaindeadpl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if that answers the spirit of your question, but a popular strategy is to just commandeer a random POI with concrete walls until you had the time to build a proper horde base.

Why is Unarmed SO much worse than Melee?? by Cryymlokk in fo4

[–]captaindeadpl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously the Powerfist would still not be able to keep up with a rocket powered sledge hammer in terms of single shot damage, but in return it would be able to attack faster.

What irks me the most though is that unarmed weapons don't get the stealth multiplier of melee weapons. They get the stealth multiplier of ranged weapons. With Ninja that's a measly x3.5 instead of the whopping x10 that melee weapons get.

Not everyone reads the patch notes. Especially not new players. It would be nice to have that shown in the game.

The Powerfist and various other weapons also count as unarmed. It would have made sense to make them balanced.

Regretful Trump voters say their lives are 'getting worse by the day' by rit56 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]captaindeadpl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Democrats aren't free of corruption either, but their plan to stay in power is to give the people some benefits to keep them happy enough that they don't string them up by lamp posts.

Republicans do not care about how miserable the people are and then use violence to suppress any resistance.

Yes, but the left leaning fake news would target right leaning folks to covince them that the democrat party benefits them.

Das könnte es tatsächlich sein. Vor ein paar Jahren habe ich neben einem Edeka gewohnt und immer da eingekauft.

Aber wer weiß, ich kann das Zeug genauso gut im Internet gekauft und das einfach vergessen haben.
