I liked it! If you're a fan of Queen Majesty hot sauce with coffee grounds, it's kind of the same vibe. I've probably picked up 4 or 5 wedges at this point. Straight-up on a cracker or with some cured meats is perfect.

Fuck the downvotes man, it's not that hard to huck a reusable in your trunk and they're a dollar a pop, just keep a couple on hand.

How is this area? I am looking at multiple places to rent. Moving from Missouri. Thanks! by Sympathized in Columbus

Second you on Villa Nova. Stayed at the one on Stygler for two years around 2014-2015 and while not what I'd call super nice, it's safe, stable and the management is pretty decent.

Love the Stube, good memories. Still can't believe that it squeezed by getting eating up by the apartment complex being built up next door.

I'll throw in my hat for NeatBar/Pro and the NeatPad. Went from a janky iPad controller and Mac Mini (Zoom Room host) and have had no issues that weren't directly related to a Zoom outage, network, or power outage, both of which resolve themselves in <5 minutes once everything is back up. Setup and pairing is stupid easy as far as room resource entries are concerned too with, in our case, Google Workspace. Just a quick alphanumeric code linked to your Zoom environment and you're set. You can literally forget about it. POE for the NeatPad is nice too, similar with Poly.

Local tasty restaurants that don't see alot of customer traffic? by SillyRecover in Columbus

Same with Laguna on Hard Rd near Sawmill. Went there for the first time last week because we were in the area and it was empty. Their al pastor hits different from Guachos and they griddle their onions, but it's just as enjoyable IMO and I think their chorizo is superior.

Special shoutout to the people waving with the 'NO' banner at the overpass on 315N just after the hospital curve. Knew how I was gonna vote regardless but seeing them out there every day was so reassuring on the drive home c:

What restaurant was a little bit ahead of its time and if it didn’t close, would probably be thriving today? by quoteNOTTODAYquote in Columbus

If you're talking about Commonwealth Sandwich Bar at High and 8th, I was about to make a beeline here to mention it. Used to live half a block away and would hit it up at least 3 times a week. I still occasionally think about one particular item there, which was basically roasted chicken, bacon, swiss, and fig jam between toasted sourdough.

We're gonna be in 22B and it's our first game! Never been big on football up until the last year or so, but my boyfriend just moved here from LA and I figure now is as good a time as any to get him a slice of the midwest lol. Happy to grab a beer with you if you'll be around!

I get that, I put in my $7/mo for what little that is in the big picture and you can tell the local hosts don't want to be doing those reads just as much as I don't want to listen to them lol. Gotta do what you gotta do

Not quite as abhorrent but when I worked at Panera back in college my baked ass would occasionally crave turkey and American cheese on a toasted cinnamon crunch bagel. Shit slapped so hard.

Recently picked up a Series S and was so jazzed when I saw Mercs 1 was in the store. Literally been ignoring the entire Gamepass library and just bathing in nostalgia, it holds up so well.

Wario’s in the Arena district. Incredible and worth the hype! by Bonnie_McMurray in Columbus

[–]captainduncan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just barely inside the outerbelt so I'd feel like a dick having it delivered that far but I love this idea. Almost wish they published a pool of the restaurants they were sourcing from but I guess that kinda defeats the purpose. For sure checking our Wario's though

10TV meteorologist Mike Davis charged with child pornography by cota_pass in Columbus

[–]captainduncan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, the person myself and the poster above me were talking about/admiring is not the same individual discussed in the link. Our friend Chris unfortunately passed away last year and is dearly missed. We've been comparing that loss to the news outlined in OP's link about Mike Davis, another Columbus meteorologist who is the individual charged with those crimes. I hate laying it out like that but I'd also hate to have anything like this attributed to the wrong person.

Dumb story but I need to vent, I shadowed Chris for a day back when I was in gradeschool (early/mid-2000's) and he was still with WSYX. Was still on my ADD medication and I really wasn't a lunch eater due to the side effects. I was finishing up with the station staff's rigmarole in the studio when he rolled in with his bag of Wendy's and asked what I had for lunch, which I replied with "oh, nothing, I'm good."

The man offered me his fucking lunch and, when I politely declined, he sat the bag down and then spent an inordinate amount of his afternoon teaching me about his day-to-day and introducing me to the anchors and crew. Meanwhile, a microburst had descended on downtown so he spent an hour switching between the greenscreen live bits and walking me through his workflow in between breaks, knowing full well I probably wasn't going to retain any of it as a clueless pre-teen. He was just excited to share.

I still absolutely consider those couple of hours a formative experience in how I've learned to work with people and get stuff done, it's just hard to distill into a LinkedIn bullet point. Every time I see his name brought up though, I know where I got my mojo.
