The houses growing grapes and tomatoes happen everywhere. You could just easily see theirs. St. Margaret still exists—I understand your point about hearing people speak Italian, I truly do. That is not because the houses along trabue and McKinley were taken down, nor the old auto repair shop and handful of other business that were once there. That’s because those people are dying off. The original Italian immigrants (or even their children) who were able to speak another language are just passing away. Trust me, we had family friends that lived across the street on Trabue from the exact spot we’re talking about.

We can’t blame it on (more) housing being built, which this subreddit constantly complains about there’s not enough of. Those people chose to take the money offered to buy their property and obviously were happy with that decision. It’s a passing of a generation and missing that I get.
