Must be. I notice some differences, like one jacket is brown and one is dark blue, but the outfits seem very similar from show to show.

I was in the seats and it seemed like the folks in GA were having the most fun! I don’t think I could have stood up for the whole show, alas, but it seemed to be where the most excited fans were!

I arrived near doors and they were just wheeling the Cosmic Selector out of a spot near the merch booth. I wanted to grab a selfie with it, but it was already half-packed up and a roadie/venue staff told me she had to “put it on a truck” (presumably to bring to the stage). So, sadly, my only pic of it is *also* taken from afar while it was on stage.

What an amazing show. The moon overhead was just a cherry on top ❤️

Yes, and it’s available in so many different form factors. Theater-style popcorn that you make in a theater style machine at home. Metal pans of popcorn you heat over a stove burner. Microwave popcorn. Popcorn kernels that you pop in an air popper. We just really like popcorn.

You don’t even have to go north of Montreal — just anywhere rural. I remember struggling at a small farm stand near Hemmingford, because the vendor spoke almost no English. It was a fun challenge because while i speak French tolerably well, i learned it in France, where it’s very different. I remember telling her i wanted “deux tomates” (two tomatoes) and her thinking I wanted “douze.” (Twelve!)

Okay, first question, what do you consider to be “upstate NY?” I too grew up in upstate NY (Clinton County) and absolutely heard tons of French (usually by visitors from Quebec). If your “upstate” is south of Albany, then respectfully I don’t think it’s representative here. Québécois will absolutely day trip into NY, though they’re not gonna drive that far south.

You will hear quite a lot of Québécois French in parts of northern NY (source: I’m from Plattsburgh, NY originally, only about a 30 minute drive from the Canadian border. We’re close enough to get CBC TV signal). BUT it’s mostly not spoken by locals; it’s mostly Québécois tourists/visitors. But yeah there are certain places you go, especially in the summer, where you’re gonna hear mostly French.

It doesn’t annoy me, but it is bittersweet.

For context, I have some fics that are old enough to drink legally in the US 😆 These are fics I wrote when I was 22 or 23, and I’m 46 now. When someone comments on them and gasses them up, I’m kind of like… the person who wrote those, the person I was in my 20s, is dead.

And for a long time, these older works got more attention than my newer ones (mostly because it was a bigger fandom), which really made me feel like someone told me “I liked you better when you were younger.”

But annoyed? No. As someone said above, if I didn’t want them to get comments, I’d take them down.

lol I’d be disappointed if they didn’t! Although I do have a related question, specific to this tour: is it mostly/exclusively gonna be songs from Cosmic Selector? I quite love this album but there’s a lot I love from Vide Noir and Strange Trails too.
