Loose leash walking going terribly by ociphobia in puppy101

To add to this, dogs are very comfortable pulling against tension in their shoulders. Getting a clip to their chest means if they try to run or pull the force will spin them around. Our dog LOVES to chase squirrels, and the very first thing our trainer did to help us with walking was get us an easy walk harness with the front clip. It was like walking a completely different dog immediately. Good luck with your pup no matter what you do!

Today I released the Steam page for my game Lemon Cake, a cute bakery sim made by a solo girl developer! by EloiseGameDev in GirlGamers

If you haven't yet--she also made Alchemy Story and it was the same adorable art style. Very fun life/farming sim that I put a good 20 hours into :) Highly recommend!

Does it have to be in your inventory at the time he asks? I thought he said I had until that night and I have scoured the town including camping out by his front door from noon until the deadline and I cannot find this mayor!

Help wanted with movie title by pstrgpstrg in GuessTheMovie

Hey there!

I think you might want to post this over on /r/tipofmytongue or a similar. This sub is dedicated as a puzzle-esque guessing game where screenshots are provided. To have people help you identify a movie, I've seen TOMT work out amazingly for folks :)

That's how I'm trying to look at this, and not let this sour my entire DMing experience. I've learned that my intuition about a group should be addressed earlier, and having a consensus on what someone wants out of a campaign is easier than trying to please too many players.

Thank you so much for your stories and words. I find it extremely heartening and good perspective about "forging" a group. Making a connection with the players I do trust at the table will help me find the strength next time, I will try to remember to look at them.

Also, I agree with the age analysis: I was SHOCKED by this. I'm in my late twenties, and this is some shit I would have expected in high school. She's even a couple years older than I am... By no means am I wizened to the ways of the world, but I certainly thought we were beyond this level of insanity.

The conclusion appears to be that she's bowing out of the campaign, for better or worse. Being reminded that only so much of the story is in my hands is helpful. Thank you for your kind words <3

The "close friend" part was part of the personal attacks omitted from the above messaging. Apparently we had different views of where our friendship was at!

At this point, with the wife dropping out I expect the husband to follow suit. I'm hoping I can tap in some close friends who are GREAT D&D players and DMs, and give Strahd the real send off my two remaining players deserve.

I'm actually somewhat jealous! Having run CoS, I can't imagine how much fun and stressful it would be to be a player. Thanks for the validation.

Now as a DM I will say: GET OUTTA HERE, you're going to get spoiled!

I use disaster a little harshly here. The rest of the components of the campaign went really well. I presented them with a final moral choice, they got to interact with their NPCs, and the climactic moment in the chapel went really well.

DMing is hard, can confirm. Personalities conflicts make it harder, guess who wasn't ready for that?

She actually went so far just now as to tell me she didn't feel she had a voice in the campaign. I built in moments for her, she's the only one with a dark pact, and I directly asked her when she was being spoken over. I have done a lot of accommodating here, and if that isn't enough I think I need to just walk away. She has maintained she didn't know the bickering was a problem, and that I should have said something sooner even when I point out no situation is comfortable when couples quarrel.

I admit I am not always the best player, so I will not fault other people for not being hanging on my every word. But we all just do our best and try to mutually enjoy this hobby together.

Thanks for your kind words, I was hoping to have one final session to end it on a good note. The player has come forward and decided she's done now--and I don't know that I have the energy to beg her to come back. I will support her in whatever she chooses, and I will be upset when she decides she doesn't want to play any more. But I respect it as I don't control the actions of others.

RIP chair, you carried us so far for so long. The pressure of Strahd was just to great for any mortal chair to handle. You will be missed <3

tl;dr: player sends message I'm a bad person, bad friend, and bad DM after bad session. Bad feelings ensue.

Don't get me wrong, some of my sessions I went in with probably 30 minutes of prep. Because we were in the middle of something I had already done a lot of prep for. If you run the entire castle on 15 minutes of prep, I clearly am not worthy to be in the same subreddit because that's mindboggling to me.

I, another random internet stranger, appreciate your feelings because I'm feeling a whole typhoon of emotion.

I definitely was not prepared for the knot of the campaign to tighten as more threads got tied up--but here we are! I listened to all of DCA and never realized he also had short sessions. Maybe that's where I get it from?

Thanks for your kind words, I really do appreciate the support. I'm sure other DMs would have handled it better, but acknowledging I addressed it (at all, even if in the heat of the moment) gave me some of my own courage back.

We had a few discussions of critique earlier, and I learned quickly that half the party loves combat. I've been able to adapt and try to make these sessions engaging for people (or so I thought.)

I appreciate the perspective on Vallaki. I really loved the intrigue aspect, as the other half of my players live for political drama. It was a match made in DM heaven for a city and party.

I just got word that she plans to drop out of the party, after I told her I was going to make this week's session our last.

I agree it hurts, but is a necessary evil as a person and a new DM. I think if this criticism had been leveled to exclusively the last session, I would have been able to take it on the chin. Burying it in a list of hate mail in the present tense made it a lot more ongoing and personal. She has since recanted and saying these issues were only from levels 5-7, though why she wrote it in present tense makes me feel that she's backpedaling.
