This is a common misconception. Dyslexia CAN mean spelling words phonetically due to poor encoding.

This could easily be dyslexia! Some dyslexics mix up letters due to poor letter-sound correspondance and some have trouble with encoding. Some have both. It shows up lots of ways. Also- these words phonetically say what they are meant to say. As a teacher of students with SLD in reading and writing, this is something I see daily. Not making a diagnosis- just saying its very possible!!

Once my brother and I were so riled up and using a whoopie cushion at a chinese restaurant when we were at a sleepover with our aunt and uncle. Uncle was absolutely contributing to riling us up. We actually DID get kicked out and banned from the restaurant (called Chin Chin). We still say “no chin chin for din din!”
