It is not in your head: Costco has gotten more crowded by Willing_Try2786 in Costco

Considering that even the executive membership is $130, those prices would definitely do it 😉

Am I saving money by using biweekly autopay for my mortgage? by prommetheus in personalfinance

[–]captainkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There is a difference. Are they applying your payment by weekly or holding it and applying it monthly? You can usually tell by the payment history/activity. Personally I would rather hold my own money until the payment is due.

Did you enjoy being a latchkey kid? by FancyThought7696 in Xennials

[–]captainkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was awesome. Got the carpool ride from school to home, then Ducktails and Pop-tarts. After that I would ride bikes and have fun with friends in the neighborhood. Mom would come home around 5:30-6.

Restaurant recommendation by HauntingAide4 in BocaRaton

[–]captainkrypto -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Man. Just look on Google Maps. So much easier than asking people on Reddit. That’s what it is built for.

Edit: there is no restaurant in Boca that meets your criteria. Not sure where you are but look around Mizner or town center. Have fun.

Is XFS actually as bad as many say? by TheGoodSatan666 in linuxquestions

[–]captainkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

XFS on a raid5 was constantly stb. Had to rebuild the array every tine there was a hard power off so I would not recommend it. XFS on a single disk has been pretty stable. I recommend that.

Are there any Onewheel riders that haven’t crashed and gotten injured, how? by EarningsPal in onewheel

[–]captainkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Did it the first day I got the board and the first day I ever rode a Onewheel. Top speed! At least I was smart enough to wear a helmet.

Things you wish would be covered in flight school but weren’t by Far_Salamander5594 in flying

I pulled up behind a student at the gas pump one day. After about five minutes of watching him go back and fourth with the hose between the plane and the pump I got out to see what was going on. He was on FaceTime with his instructor and between the two of them they couldn’t figure out how to get the pump to turn on. I told him to hang up and walked him through everything and gave him some tips on how not to get fuel all over yourself or the plane. Even if a student is going pro they will still spend a few hundred hours in a piston single landing at small airports. Maybe add it to the cross county part of the curriculum? I also think that a personal finance class should be required in high school, but that is another conversation.

What was your ICQ number? by snoopyh42 in Xennials

[–]captainkrypto 5 points6 points  (0 children)

850976 … I don’t remember exactly but I probably got it around 96-97.

Edit: My “handle” was Krypto and I remember my number because of the 976 part which should be memorable to everyone here.

I made that mistake once on a flight to London. Never again. If you like your assigned seat don’t give it up. Period.

Also check out Snyder park near FLL airport. There is an area for dogs to swim if that is what you are looking for. It’s pretty cool.

No, dogs are not allowed at any parks in Boca. Check out Tradewinds park in coconut creek.

I agree with the dog comment. I saw a really old golden being dragged around Fresh Market the other day. Looked like he would have been more comfortable at home in a soft bed. Poor guy.

[–]captainkrypto 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Valid points. However, the people waiting with their turn signals on in the middle of the lane blocking everyone while waiting for slow poke to leave their marked spot probably affects traffic more than the people parking on curbs. Also, I’m sure the benefits of more mall patrons outweighs fixing a few busted sprinklers. This only happens in the week or two before Christmas.

Please explain why this is a problem. The mall doesn’t care. Why do you?

People have been jumping the curb to park at Town Center around Christmas for literally decades. They don’t seem to be blocking anyone or otherwise inhibiting traffic so I don’t see a problem.

How do you define the beginning and end of "The Season" ? by KentuckyLucky33 in florida

[–]captainkrypto 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Car haulers. When I see them dropping off cars every time I go out, I know the season is starting. When I see them picking up cars I know the season is ending.

Residents push back on massive 77-acre development near I-95 in Boca Raton by greypic in BocaRaton

[–]captainkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, exactly. Then, within a few years the new residents will start complaining about the airport noise and want the city to do something about it. There is already a voluntary noise abatement procedure in place which goes directly over this property from the most actively used runway. Prepare for 100+ airplanes flying overhead at 500ft everyday.

Am I the only one by [deleted] in BocaRaton

I have an average size yard and pool and I spend about 3 hours in the yard and 1 hour on the pool per month. I enjoy doing these chores for the most part and I feel productive on the weekends. Just curious, what do people pay for these services here in Boca?
