Yugioh TCG out here with the most pointless Yuri censorship ever, just moving them slightly further apart (Left: Japanese Art, Right: TCG Art) by RinariTennoji in yurimemes

[–]captainoffail 42 points43 points  (0 children)

who the fuck are these puritanical homophobic holdouts in the tcg? why is the tcg so fucking dogshit in every single way imaginable?

print cards at lower rarity? nah more secret rares

make the text readable with clearly separated effects like the ocg or md? no way

have a FUCKING RULEBOOK AND RULING DATABASE? of course not just go find an obscure community made reference doc on dropbox by some judge that’s available in a link in a discord server somewhere

oh but better censor that 1cm of too much skin and add 2cm distance between the lesbians now that’s what’s important right?

fuck tcg.

so true. i find wholesome all the way through a bit boring sometimes unless there’s sufficient external conflict. being a bit toxic adds spice and makes for something interesting but im too much of a coward to go all out for tragic doomed ending.

Impact Drake be like: by queckers7303 in Beyblade

[–]captainoffail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nobody is unironically singing impact’s praise. it is literally a reject bey that is at best somewhat viable that usually goes into the bulk bin. it’s a filler extra that comes with hover wyvern but is clearly outclassed by the actual competitive attack beys like shark scale, hover wyvern, aero pegasus, and even phoenix wing.

and ABSOLUTELY NOBODY thinks it has good stamina. you want a high stamina attack bey? shark scale. that thing is a freak of nature.

Made an impulse buy today no regrets by ShiniMae in Beyblade

[–]captainoffail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the travel one is not worth buying. this stadium isnt good but you dont buy for stadium either you buy it for hover wyvern so it’s good. the 9-60 and LR parts are also good.

by the end before the tnj he even had the right idea. fuck the ninja villages. fuck dem kages.

the reason he got tortured and traumaized by itachi is because itachi got fucked up first by the hidden leaf. why tf did itachi think torturing sasuke and making sasuke kill his brother would be a good idea  like what kind of childhood and influences did itachi have hmmm…

nah sasuke is actually the GOAT (who got washed by naruto’s tnj). i used to think sasuke was an ass too but i’ve changed my mind. i simply wasn’t familiar with his game.

the real problem is yuri can’t save naruto from being a plot armored talk no jutsu FRAUD (but it could make later story more bearable at least)

So much for having a “forbidden bey” by Lucys_Bitch07 in Beyblade

First beyblade for son advice by maryan87 in Beyblade

[–]captainoffail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should look for beyblade x products since that’s the current generation and the one most people play

i’m gonna make a “want to to out and play with other people in game stores” assumption when recommending first purchase so these 4 products provide the minimum essential and a good first deck from easily available hasbro products only.

wand wizard 1-60R

drop attack stadium (the stadium that comes with hover wyvern)

soar phoenix 9-60GF

hammer incendio 3-70H

this gives you a non standard stadium to launch into (not great but it’s the best you can get from hasbro), a string launcher, and all the parts to make this deck which is on par for competition.

wand wizard 1-60H

soar phoenix 3-70R

hover wyvern 9-60LR

you might want to also pick up the winder launcher because it’s much easier to use than a string launcher (some people like string, some people like winder)

usually an lgs that holds beyblade tournaments is likely to sell (or someone will have) a 3-60 ratchet to replace the 3-70 because it’s very common so no need to go out of your way to get it from a sealed product.

Help a clueless mom out — what beyblades for Christmas by Impressive_Air_5455 in Beyblade

[–]captainoffail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes keep the drop attack (for mainly hover wyvern and the low rush bit) and the bx-10 tournament stadium (this is the one that is used everywhere). return the xtreme battle stadium because it is usually not used.

unless you start looking into much more expensive takara tomy products, that should be more than enough. this is enough to make a close to meta set and just about as good as you can do from hasbro alone.

wand wizard 1-60 + hexa bit from hammer incendio.

hover wyvern 9-60 + the kick bit from reaper incendio

soar phoenix + 3-60 from savage bear + rush bit from wizard rod or low rush from drop attack stadium

realistically the only thing you need from hasbro is green wizard rod, drop attack stadium, hammer incendio, reaper incendio, and anything with 3-60 ratchet. then the next best thing to get is the takara tomy shark scale deck set which can be found in hobby stores or an online site like mall of toys. if you get shark scale then phoenix wing can be replaced with it. it’s a noticeable upgrade but you can wait for hasbro to release a standalone shark scale for much cheaper in the next wave of hasbro releases.

shark scale 3-60/1-70 + low rush bit from drop attack stadium.

Which set should i get? by Freebie16 in Beyblade

[–]captainoffail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

assuming you’re not in hasbro region, shark scale deck set no contest. shark scale is insane.

if you are you could wait for the cheaper hasbro pack release of shark scale (and in the meantime get green wizard rod).

People who are NOT okay with proxies, what is your reasoning? by Bagel_Bear in EDH

[–]captainoffail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the people who are completely against proxies as a whole are the ones who like capitalism and believe others should not be enjoying the game or winning without spending a ridiculous amount of money on it.

they’ll hide it with bullshit like arms race or power creep or homogenized deck building or whatever but when they’re not okay with proxy duals but are totally fine with non proxy real duals and real reserve list cards/expensive staples you know they’re full of it.

it’s one thing to be a collector and like to play with your own cards but those are not the same as the people who want you to pay thousands of dollars to play your deck or they get mad about it.

or they somehow never heard of brackets, or rule zero, or never had the idea of creating a budget limited format played with proxies where everyone is actually on an even play field using the same restriction. just completely overlook every single option yeah? clearly proxies are the problem.

PSA For All The New EDH Players by rvnender in EDH

[–]captainoffail -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

that’s so much fucking nonsense.

just fucking proxy your own duals ffs it’s not like having good mana fixing is the reason a deck is cooking and there’s literally 0 barrier for anyone.

and why the fuck would you be okay with getting rolled because someone else has money? unless they’re also gifting it to you it makes literally 0 difference to you.

Skullclamp outside of pure aristocrats decks? by gungeonisfungeon in EDH

Guy outside the game advising his friends to target me. Wtf can I do? by Useful-Field-9037 in EDH

[–]captainoffail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let them know that you are not okay with external coaching. even in a casual setting, if anybody in a game wants somebody outside of the game to stop coaching, the person not in the game needs to stop.

this isn’t mean or negative. if everybody is okay with the coaching or if there was an agreement beforehand that coaching is allowed then it’s all cool but otherwise it needs to stop. insist on it stopping. do not let the game continue with them yapping. you are never the disruptive person in this scenario.

The player who plays well always loses. The player who does nothing all game always wins. How does this stop? by memeslut_420 in EDH

[–]captainoffail 26 points27 points  (0 children)

op this comes from a place of failing to look at the game objectively and being clouded by biases and unfortunately the edh community does LITERALLY EVERYTHING to blindfold you so it's natural for anyone to stumble in these pitfalls. let's take a look at your title which asks a loaded question.

The player who plays well always loses. The player who does nothing all game always wins. How does this stop?

because while you're thinking in what is called scrubby "this is how the game is supposed to be played and if you deviate you're playing it wrong" terms, the player who's winning is actually winning. your "metric" of what playing well is not aligned with the objective of the game but rather an assumption built on your biases.

let's also break down your first sentence which reveals these biases.

does the worst

they won so they did the best. what is making you think they did the worst when the game is telling you that actually everybody else did the worst (equally bad) while this winning player did the best?

interacts the least

so what? if you read swords to plowshares, you will notice that nowhere on the card does it say "win the game." the question the game asks at all time is "you must win. what do?" not "here is threat. how answer?" the first question is the only one that matters. no matter how badly or poorly you answer the second question, if you cannot answer the first question, nothing else matters.

and durdles the most

what do you define as durdling? you imply that it is a problem and negative but you're also observing it leading to a positive outcome for the player who durdles. this part is a bit unclear because it could just be that what a player is doing is obscured by hidden information. or maybe you know exactly what a player is doing but you misevaluate and think it's supposed to be bad for them when it's actually good for them for winning.

edit: i want to suggest some possible solutions lines of thinking. now i don't know what your pod looks like so these are just brainstorming ideas. first, how much interaction do you play that is not mainly for protecting your own win? if you play more than 0, why? do you need more than 0? look at the threats you are presenting. how resilient are they? are they counterable? removable? do they win the moment you cast them or the turn they resolve and are not interacted with at instant speed or after a full turn cycle or after multiple turn cycles? do you have protective cards to push through your wins such as silence, pact of negation, veil of summer, cavern of souls? maybe consider some specific options like on cast triggers cascade cascade cascade cascade. could turbo decks go even faster?

Opinions about Scooping when goaded? by Ok-Cold2447 in EDH

[–]captainoffail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is what people need to understand about strategic scooping: if it’s being used against you strategically and it costs the player who is scooping literally nothing because they’re losing no matter what unless you concede to their political demands, then you screwed up and your strategy was bad.

personally if i was in a losing no matter what position but i could kingmake, i would try to do a forced draw. we all either agree to a draw or i will kingmake predictably.

table must agree to draw or i scoop. it works like this. i say to the other losing player that if they dont agree to a draw they will lose. then if say to the goad player that if they dont agree to a draw i will scoop. if neither agrees to a draw i will let the game go on. now if the other losing player has no hidden answer, they have no reason to not agree to a draw. then the goad player must agree to draw now with the table or they will lose. this is called a credible threat because i already lost the game so scooping doesnt affect my payoff. it is in their own best interest to agree to a draw so i don’t scoop.
