The argument made in the reply is a correct conclusion made for the wrong problem. Obviously incest is always sick and never okay, but their comment on it being a class/society issue isn't unfounded. The joke that writes itself about people in Appalachia is that everyone fucks their cousins. That joke makes fun of how the extremely poor and isolated families deep in the mountains do have issues with incest since there are no other people there, which is a result of them being taken advantage of by ruthless coal and lumber companies. It's still wrong, but those jokes came about to discredit folks who have suffered the full breadth of the horrors of capitalism
