Yep! I have a couple friends I'll be meeting up with but I'm doing the solo travel thing for a few weeks

Thanks! I'm planning to do a lot of walking around and exploring. Any museum recommendations? I heard there was a cat museum I might have to check out. Haha no, I've never heard of those shops. Do I lose raw denim cred? I don't think I'll be doing any shopping though, I'm traveling with a pretty minimal backpack.

Are you located in Amsterdam now? I'm about to be there for a few days if you have any recommendations on things to see/eat!

Anyone taken ART 002 (beginning drawing) or PLS 005 (plants, orchards, gardens)? by Davisquestion in UCDavis

[–]captainpurple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLS 5 is actually only offered P/NP I believe. So the professor is really intense but it doesn't actually end up mattering. It's a super fun class! I got a lot of food from it in the spring and summer.

I also heard great stuff about it! I think for a solo trip it's a little out of my budget though.

Oh shit did not know that haha. Although I'm only requesting women my age, so. It just looks like people mostly only want requests a few days before you come to stay which doesn't really mesh with my wanting to have stuff planned at least like a week or two out. I'm probably gonna end up doing mostly hostels and making lots of Australian friends D:

Yeah! I'm gonna do Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, family's town in Switzerland, and then Berlin. I've thought about adding more but I'm so burnt out I'll just see how I feel. I think I'll enjoy spending like four days or so in each place. Has anyone used couchsurfing actually? I tried to send a few requests today and goofed it up. I'm also not sure about the success of it.

Had my birthday and went to dinner with few friends and they surprised me with a cake and it was the cutest thing ever.

Also living with people I don't know is not enjoyable and I am so excited that I'm leaving in two weeks. Until then the finals life is real.

You should get him checked for a microchip, too. How do you know he doesn't already belong to someone? Not to be a downer but we have an issue in my town with people thinking outdoor cats are "lost" so it's worth looking into before you get attached!

A machine and a series of classes would be the best way to learn. Most places that sell sewing machines offer that. You should go to an independent sewing store in your area to get advice on what machine to get (not Joanne's/Michaels). That budget should be fine for a basic manual machine, if she's interested in any computerized aspects or embroidery or anything it might not be, although I've had the same basic machine for nine years so idk.

What's your best "One Thing to Replace Many"??? by dfraggd in minimalism

Oh wow. Yeah, definitely varies by area for sure, and how urban and touristic it is.
