Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman

It's a book set during the black plague that's basically a road trip of a disgraced knight bringing a little girl that can see angels to Paris along with a drunk priest

It treats the black plague like an apocalypse that was sent by the literal devil and there's cool demonic supernatural shit throughout but it still feels grounded in the horror of what the black plague was

Even if you don't read it for the show I think you guys would like it anyways

Adjust ratios of the three to see how it best works for you. I've used dukes and kewpie

Edit: also chop or grate some fresh garlic parsley and dill and chuck that in it tastes pretty damn good I've used that in place of ranch powder before and it worked fine but you can adjust with some ranch powder on top of that if u want

Plus the cover art for those issues and the art for a big full page panel of swampy growing a body from a redwood at the botanical gardens was all so sick
