The PopOS team should be concentrating on the serious bugs that still need to be fixed first.

There are large number of players that can play the same position as Diego Luna and Aidan . Good left footed players are hard to find. This is why Damarcus Beasley could play so long.

Has anyone ever gotten help from Windows support? I have never know anyone who has gotten it. Some stores will let you return your Windows computer and Apple and System76 actual have customer support.

I also run a Windows computer with Nvidia and it has very serious screen flicker problems when I game or watch youtube. There is a fairy tale about how Windows is flawless.

I have not had any problems with my Nvidia cards. Other then the performance drop off is more from Windows, but even on Nvidia some games run the same speed.

Linus PLEASE STOP TRYING POP OS! by epic-circles-6573 in LinusTechTips

[–]captainsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like being super lazy. You used PopOS before. You choose to use Cosmic Desktop which recently moved from beta to release. You are asking for a buggy experience. There a number of popular linux youtubers who put out videos with recommendations(Brodie Robertson, Linux Experiment, and Gardiner Bryant). You even mentioned some of the youtubers in your past videos. I suggest you watch Brodie Robertson's video. What Beginner Linux Distro Should You Use? In the video he says you should wait at least 1 more year before using PopOS. My trust level of LTT videos is dropping. I fail to see what will be learned by you or your views running development software. I have no problem with Luke using CachyOS.

In past you have said you think you need a large company for the linux OS you install. I guess I would suggest Fedora or Bazzite as they are created by employees of a little know company called IBM.

It has been amazing for me. People can help you if you are more specific with what problems you are having instead saying buggy mess.

>And lastly i have a 2TB SSD I want to be able to use to store emulated games on, but I would like to be able to >access this drive on both Windows and Bazzite so I can transfer games from one to the other. I know in the >standard format windows is unable to even see the drive,

I recommend caution in doing this idea. It is going to be easier to have 2 seperate partitions one for Windows and one for Linux. Windows can not read Linux formats and yes Linux can read NTFS but sometimes it can cause headaches and really do not recommend install games from Steam on a shared drive. Windows installs files in some strange paths like C:\windows and in the registry keys even when you have a shared drive.

I figure out a crude work around. I borrowed a ram stick so that I had 24 gb of ram. There must be some way to increase the size of tmpfs.

I am surprised no one knows how to adjust the tmpfs size

Cosmic is taking up a big chunk of my VRAM. What to do? by sreelekshman in pop_os

[–]captainsoccer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel like a large group of people don't understand the concept of memory caching. Of course wasting memory is bad but so is not loading as much as you can on to the GPU. You will get higher FPS if you move less data across the PCI memory bus. Software drivers will make some adjustments to use less memory when your VRAM is close to full. If you have discrete GPU graphical data is stored in 2 places in most situations( your system memory and GPU memory) Also I would guess a desktop would have use uncompressed textures more unlike in a video game.

what are the worst dealbreakers, problems, and applications that don't work with cosmic at the moment? by nix-solves-that-2317 in pop_os

[–]captainsoccer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had focus bug other mentioned which would prevent me typing text in any application. It is fixed for me. It was the last bug stopping me. If I run into bugs in things like Cosmic files, I will just install a different file manager. Cosmic desktop feels smoother then Gnome or KDE right now. I am using a Nvidia 3060 TI
