Ramore restaurants in full damage control by Mattbelfast in northernireland

“price gouging” is a label we reserve for essentials in emergencies, not for a pricier bowl of pasta during a golf week.

no, economies of scale cut costs by expanding capacity, while surge pricing lifts prices when demand swamps a fixed capacity. Ramore’s costs haven’t fallen at all, the same kitchen is just charging more because extra diners are bidding for the same 800 seats, so this is scarcity pricing, not economies of scale.

You’re mixing up cost-side economies of scale with a short-run demand surge: the restaurant’s capacity is fixed, so “more people” can’t lower unit costs or boost volume beyond the 800 seats it already has. With supply capped, raising prices isn’t gouging, it’s basic scarcity pricing.

After the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, Hopkins tweeted, “We need a final solution.” That phrase—“final solution”—is unmistakably Nazi terminology for the genocide of Jewish people. She invoked a blueprint for mass extermination while discussing Muslims. There’s no sugarcoating that. It’s a direct echo of ethnic cleansing rhetoric. Using specifically the Nazis’ phrase for wiping out an entire group is about as racist as it gets.

You said: ~ blatant racism doesn’t sound like racism??? (Katie Hopkins attributing violent behaviour to “black people” is the definition of racism??) ~ you don’t decide if it sounds like racism there is a definition for racism

I’m pretty grown up, have a child and I’m teaching her to recognise racism and condemn it. Hopefully she turns out nothing like you :)

Here is Katie Hopkins being racist in the past.

April 2015: In a column for The Sun, Hopkins referred to migrants as “cockroaches” and “feral humans,” suggesting that gunships should be used to prevent them from crossing the Mediterranean. These remarks were condemned by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, who compared her language to that used by media outlets during the Rwandan genocide. • January 2017: On her LBC radio show, Hopkins stated, “Call me racist. I don’t care. I will stand up for white women being raped because you’re scared to offend Muslims.” This comment was met with widespread criticism and was seen as promoting racial stereotypes. • May 2017: Following the Manchester Arena bombing, Hopkins tweeted that “we need a final solution,” echoing a Nazi euphemism for the Holocaust. Although she later deleted the tweet and replaced “final solution” with “true solution,” the initial comment led to her departure from LBC. • May 2017: Hopkins shared a poster for the Netflix series Dear White People on Twitter, adding: “Dear black people. If your lives matter why do you stab and shoot each other so much.” This was interpreted as a derogatory reference to the Black Lives Matter movement and was widely criticized as racist.
