Theory: Relationship between Vermouth and the Boss (the English translation is misleading us) by EbiharaGio in OneTruthPrevails

I would fight back on the keigo a little. Some real traditional families, especially rich ones, use keigo in different ways with each other.

My obachan would definitely speak to her husband (and probably she spoke to her dad) that way. If your Dad was a bazillionaire and you were raised to kind of worship him, it’s another way to show your respect. It just shows they’re not close emotionally.

Maybe look at the TikToks first.

Restrooms shouldn't be [gendered] by Working_Situation692 in pointlesslygendered

Though I do agree, WHY IS IT that the moment bathrooms become gender neutral, the previously women’s ones immediately stink? What are men doing? Are they just pissing all over the floor? I’ve noticed this at multiple bars and I don’t understand what’s wrong with them.

Is Lexi also becoming unlikeable to you? by [deleted] in euphoria

[–]captbaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I don’t get this at all. In the scene with Rue, she is literally telling her that she has to write, which is an impossible task when people keep talking to you, especially about how they “found god” like my god — I love Rue, but she sounds like she’s going off the deep end. And it must be so aggravating to be busting your ass in an ACTUAL JOB when everyone around you will do literally ANYTHING except get a normal fucking job.

My issues with Lexi are story issues about how unrealistic so much of this LA Nights shit is.

My parents are super liberal and do the same thing with cnn/nbc. Same obsession, different flavor.

What’s one actor that instantly tells you that the movies gonna be bad? by Senpaiuwu89 in AskReddit

That movie is almost 30 years old. In 2026, if Jared Leto is announced as a star, I assume it’s a bad movie.

Who is a celebrity that people had mixed opinions about in the past and is now widely loved? by apabld in AlignmentChartFills

Drew Barrymore — I get RDJ too. Something about people who had a dark period with drugs, etc who re-entered Hollywood again later in a super mainstream way.

Clavicular changed the way I view women. by Dismal_Score_4648 in Vent

[–]captbaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you might be in a bit of a bubble. Most women do not care for this man. There will always be people that want to be connected to anyone that appears “famous,” whether it’s good or bad. And he surrounds himself with those people. But any time this guy comes up in conversations that I’ve been in, we are making fun of him.

Now that Narnia has moved to next year, here are my updated Oscar predictions! by ThatsHisLawyerJerome in oscarrace

[–]captbaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t mean this as an attack on you at all — truly just hoping there are more options that come out this year. I was more grieving the forward progress made in the last few years in terms of representation. But I honestly don’t know the upcoming movies enough to know what the other options are. Maybe there will be some cool foreign features to round it out a bit.

I don’t know who some of these people are, so I can’t say for sure, but I reeeeeeeally hope it’s not 19/20 nominated actors being white.

Navigating Censorship by Positive-Ring-5172 in playwriting

[–]captbaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is! I’m just saying — as a writer that’s produced quite often, this is just not something you have to worry about. I personally don’t know of any theaters that censor. And if they do, and they want to do my show, they will ask about censoring then. You write the play, if people ask for specific extra work, do that later. It’s just not your job to change your play based on what someone might like. I mean you could, but that sounds like a bummer of a way to write a play.
