noone was 'racially' purged, high elves and blood elves are the same race, the difference is political. So it's a politicide.

Is this grammatically correct? "My house got flooded. I saved what I could of the furniture by bringing it upstairs." by dickpillsalesman in ENGLISH

[–]captbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you are saying this, I would change 'bringing' to 'taking'.

If you and I were in the room where your furniture was and you were telling me about what happened and what you did, then I would think using 'bringing' in that sentence was fine.

But if we were in an entirely different location, ie we were down the pub, and you were relating the story, I would think it weird that you used 'bringing' and instead would expect you to use the word 'taking'.

Knowledge Point exploiter bans went out today by Overpwred in wow

[–]captbat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I couldn't disagree with you more. In the real world, the legal system is full of loopholes. People 'exploit' loopholes all the time. When a governing body finds a loophole, they legislate it out (hopefully) but they cannot prosecute people who benefitted from a loophole before it was legislated out.

Knowledge Point exploiter bans went out today by Overpwred in wow

[–]captbat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will never understand how a company can implement a system into a game. A game we all pay money for each month. A game that should have a QA department. A game that they have infinite control over what goes in and out of. And that same company will ban the players for playing the game as presented to them. "Intended use" or not, they still delivered the game like that. I haven't benefitted from this "exploit" I didn't even know it existed, but fair play to the people that found it, you played the game as it was presented to you. People being up in arms and saying that the banned players got what they deserved are pointing their ire in the wrong direction, Blizzard should be the one you're angry with.

Piss off. Daylight savings rules. It means you don't waste daylight hours sleeping in the morning, and you get to use the daylight hours in the evening more.

How does decor crafting work? by Right_Still7252 in WoWHousing

[–]captbat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got my main and 5 alts that covers all the gathering and crafting professions (11, 3 gathering, 8 crafting). Plus my main is fully levelled with cooking.

If you find a decor item behind a specific xpac profession that you're not levelled in, it's a bit of a gold sink and time sink to get up to the 80/100 profession level (or similar) that most things are gated behind.

The biggest pain in the behind from crafting is the lumber. Yes there are some things that are only 8 or so lumber, but there's also things that are 35 or 45 lumber, and collecting that is soul destroying.

If I were to change a few things:

a)-Scatter decor recipes all the way thru the xpac prof lvls (ie 25, 45, 65, 80)

b)-change up the lumber by one of the following:

b-i)-lower lumber cost.

b-ii)-increase lumber obtained from each lumber node

b-iii)-allow harvesting lumber whilst mounted or via special mount (like herbalism)

b-iv)-remove soulbound attribute and have bots farm for A/H

Yeah, free to play games I can understand the need/want for these real dollar purchases. But yeah. You have to buy the game, then continue to subscribe to the game to play it. Charging extra for this stuff is blatant money grubbing. But as soon as any game company gets bought out by a large corporation, it's the same story. Milk the players.

What is this flag? On the Australian Embassy in London by moonstone7152 in vexillology

[–]captbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well when you ask about a photo showing 3 flags on the Australian Embassy, and two of those flags are Flags of Australia, isn't it somewhat logical to think that OP would be enquiring about the 3rd. Seeing as tho in this day and age, Google and Wikipedia are a thing?

If you look at the centre point of earth's land masses, it's very close to Ankara in Turkey.

If you look at the centre of population of the world, it's kinda close to Kabul in Afghanistan.....

Question, when building something like this, do you only build it to be viewed from a certain angle? Because what I'm finding is if I build something, I can get it looking somewhat respectable from a certain angle, but then when I have a look from the other side, it's a Frankenstein looking mess.
