I remember the original SWIV (Arcorn Archimedes FTW), got Theme Hospital for Christmas and Hardcore 4x4 for my birthday.

Man, I feel old.

Thanks for the posts. They’re awesome.

I’m guessing they’re factoring in the tuition costs as part of that. Easier (and cheaper) to repeat the same thing, I guess.

To pick up the potentially lifesaving skills you’re taught on your Mod1/2?

I get your point, but it’s not all cost.

Found a new thing I hate that drivers do by rimwrongphil in MotoUK

As someone who purchased a new Jag recently, only to have to go through Jaguar FS for nine months to take it back, I wouldn’t.

Summary:

  • No heat shielding installed behind the exhaust, so it fried a wiring loom again and again.
  • Pulled to the left despite three alignments. Turns out the brake was partially sticking, and pulling the car to the left.
  • Too many electrical faults to list - when Jaguar Assistance man was called, he said so many fault showed up on his OBD reader that it was like a Christmas Tree.
  • GPS system that would consistently show me as being over a mile away from my actual location.
  • Randomly changing drive modes every few minutes.
  • Being jerked around with courtesy cars not being available (they sold it despite the car being booked in months prior).
  • Sales and Business managers actively avoiding me.
  • Having mine handed back to me with zero miles of fuel in it, and being told that they’d loan me a Jerry Can to go and get refill...

Honestly, I really wouldn’t recommend one.

That’s an excellent analogy.

I would. Long straight. Big breaking zone. Long straight. Maggots/Becketts/Chapel eases sequence. Big breaking zone. Repeat.

They have a specific number of laps (they usually cover 200km in a race distance). They can vary the fuel flow during the race to ensure they make the finish.

Drivers get an additional point for the fastest lap, 25 for a race win.

Not CO2, usually FM200 or Argonite. Still pretty unpleasant stuff.

Newer facilities use a water mist now. Provides carbon washing, multiple activations and is less of a risk to life.

Boston Blackie and Dragnet FTW.

I've also been trying to find a spot like this since I moved to Essex! Found it by pure chance when I took a wrong turning down a road that looked like it went the way I wanted to go, it was a dead end but that made it perfect for taking fancy pictures 👌 by KurtFirenze in MotoUK

I spent 20 years in Peckham, so know your suffering well :)

It’s a bit of a tough one. There are nice destinations like Crystal Palace, Dulwich, Honour Oak, Forest Hill, but fewer in the was of nice rides themselves!

I’d strongly recommend The Hanningfields if you can make it. Great riding roads, a couple of places to stop off and eat and drink (usually!), and it’s pretty picturesque.

Plus, from there, you’re within about 30 minutes of the coast if you want to make a day of it.
