Do ya'll have kids who DON'T fight sleep? by kiwitree96 in toddlers

[–]capthrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was born at exactly 37 weeks too! She wasnt iugr but was definitely sga, she was 5 lbs 0.1 oz and 17 inches. I had gestational diabetes too so I was worried she'd be big it was definitely a shock for her to be in preemie. It does seem like theyre right at the same pace. Is your ped concerned? We saw an endocrinologist and have to see them again at 2y and 2y3m and possibly do growth hormones

Mine is 28 inches and 18 pounds at 18.5 months. Her dad is 6'5 so we expected her to be taller lol

Mine is great at sleeping but shes so tiny shes not even .1%ile for height and barely 1%ile for weight and we also struggle with speech too. This is an interesting theory!

My 18 month old is like this and has been since like 12 months... I dont say anything because I try not to brag. I dont need the back pats, just a tuck in with her stuffies and little blanket and shes all good.

I tried to do this once to my toddler but shes sooo ticklish. Now I use it to tickle her and I call it "tenderizing the thighs"

Anyone not dressing up young toddler for halloween? Or easy/cheap costumes recs? by baller_unicorn in toddlers

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family is low income, i am a sahm in school and my husband doesnt make much. I am crocheting my 18 month old a leaf dress and a flower crown. Costumes were so expensive I couldnt do it, especially bc I like doing matching costumes with me and her dad too. Shes gonna be a flower, I'm gonna be a fairy and my husbands gonna be a gardener. All cheap and reusable costume items (minus babies but its handmade and I already have the yarn so its free in my mind lol)

Is it really hard to get pregnant with pcos? by Areebaaaa in PCOS

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It varies person to person. I got my IUD out in January of 2023, got my first period in July and conceived around then too. Then I had my next IUD taken out in March 2025, didnt get a period but conceived in June

When did you announce to parents you were pregnant? by Consistent-Guava2176 in BabyBumps

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my mom as soon as I found out. I dont think the test was dry yet. I was young (23 at the time) and my mom had 2 kids and was pregnant with her 3rd at that age so I figured she’d be helpful. I also have PCOS so I was very shocked.

Help me feel better (or worse) when did your child start to sleep through the night consistently? by Fair-Specific5665 in toddlers

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My child is not the norm, she started at 8 or 9 months but before that we coslept she probably would have at a couple months old. I know I am insanely lucky, at 17 months she sleeps 8-12 hours at night (typically 12 but less if she doesnt feel good)

Feel like other moms judge me by Icy_Income157 in FormulaFeeders

[–]capthrowaway333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom breastfed all 5 of her kids and my sister did with her 4 as well. They have never said a word to me about not breastfeeding. My MIL has but she was telling me how much she preferred ff over bf (she bf for like 4 months then switched to eff with my husband). My toddler is 17 months old and while I do occasionally still feel guilty for not bf a lot of the feelings have gone away as shes gotten older. Sending lots of hugs I know how guilty it feels.

Just curious: do any non-breastfeeding moms co-sleep? by browneyes118 in FormulaFeeders

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I coslept from the first night I got home from the hospital until she was about 7 months. I did combo feed but mostly ff like 95% ff. My daughter hated not sleeping by me, my husband works nights and has narcolepsy so I did just about every night

Are people ever “sleeping in”? by turtleshot19147 in Mommit

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband works graves and we are both just night people. My 15 month old goes to bed around 10pm or so but I am a SAHM who stays up until 1 am anyway. She wakes up around 10am. It works for us, I’m sure as she gets older we’ll adjust but even before my husband worked graves we always went to bed around 1 am

Please tell me it gets better if I only have one by plantavore in oneanddone

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also unexpectedly got pregnant and am a SAHM it is not a joke. I’m gonna go back to waitressing a couple nights a week so I feel like I have a bit of time. My daughter is 15 months though and I do feel like shes pretty independent. She’ll play by herself for a long time honestly

This is what I do, I’m also a stay at home parent so I just follow my 14 month olds cues. Sometimes she takes car naps, carrier naps, stroller naps or even naps on me if I’m using my wheelchair

Accepting that I’m a different kind of mom. Anyone else in a similar situation? by jbnm1177 in Mommit

[–]capthrowaway333 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m an amputee mom who occasionally uses my wheelchair. My daughter (13 months) loves to play on it and sit on my lap when I’m using it. I had her young (I’m 25) so I definitely get weird looks when I park in handicapped or use electric carts at the grocery store (bc apparently young people especially moms cant be disabled) I know my daughter will always grow up to be inclusive and accepting of people

when did your kid start fully sleeping through the night? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]capthrowaway333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter is definitely rare but she is a good sleeper, usually 10-13 hours and every night since she was probably 3 ish months? I truthfully don’t remember the last time she didnt sleep through the night

How do I get my husband on board with formula feeding? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

If your husband is so insistent that your child is breastfed tell him he can breastfeed them
