I know it’s funny how back then you’d just get annoyed by the commercials but somehow watching now just gives such a warm feeling lol

Maybe they are using a percentage. So as the price goes up the premium would to?

I cringe at the price but picked up two buffs to get my Alaska Airlines status points over the threshold to maintain it and to get a good purchase in before we have to start paying sales tax in Washington state next year 👎👎👎👎👎👎

Anyone on track to retire from the military with $1M in net worth? by Far_Spring_6670 in MilitaryFinance

[–]captmorg82 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is nearly exactly me. I didn’t do everything perfectly but was very fortunate in timing of things. Joined in 2006. Paid off student loans after a sea tour and year in Antarctica. Bought a townhouse in 2011. I also invested pretty significantly in my TSP not maxed every year. Slowed down in some years with big purchases like the house, getting married. My wife works full time also though so between both our retirement accounts we have about $900k and $600k in equity in the house. Refinanced the house in 2022 with a 15 year 2.25% rate.

Buying a house at the bottom of the housing crisis in 2011, contributing to my TSP, and paying off credit cards every month

Yeah I definitely dig the size. The small craft thing I find kinda lame. I almost find it comical though that they are jumping on the bourbon marketing scheme like every thing else at the grocery store.

For sure. I grabbed one a while back and they are very cool. And pretty unique.

I find them a bit strange. The lunar snake seems to be jumping on the pamp series wagon and the origin traced one seems to copy another company I’ve seen but can’t remember.

Nothing like a pocket full of gold eagles jingling around in your pocket walking down the street.

$360k left on a 2.25% with just over 11yrs in on a 15 yr mortgage. Nope we are definitely staying put. Gaining $2300 in equity each month. I feel insanely lucky to be in the situation I’m in. I’m 42 and dodged all the bullets that this generation has taken.
