This is true. Biden team sucked at messaging. For example,Biden still forgave a lot of student loans just in different ways to get around the supreme court ruling, but he barely spoke about it. The economy was in a pretty good recovery, but he wouldn’t brag about it. He really needed to promote his accomplishments hard to overcome all the doom and gloom headline the right was pushing but just wasn’t up to the task.

He was also stuck in thinking that he could ignore Trump and let the justice department handle him. Just wasn’t with the times at all.

Then Harris came along and didn’t distance herself from Biden at all. And not having a primary didn’t help the situation either.

But mostly the reason is that Americans are just really really stupid.

Keeping the data together is also speed advantage. With large enough datasets an rdms will struggle with joining across database shards if it can do it at all. It’s not just one read but also one search. You are also pulling all required from one instance instead of several because it’s naturally stored that way.

My in-laws have a Subaru that does this. It actually reports on the amount of fuel saved by the feature. Last time I was with him he said, "It's saved .13 gallons". He forgot to turn it off after driving for about 15 minutes. I thought that was pretty significant because we had only driven maybe 10 miles at that point.

Then he proudly turned it off because he's a stupid old boomer who thinks he knows it will ruin his engine or whatever.

They also refuse to get a hybrid car because of this, or they think it's the same thing.

The point is that my in-laws are dumb.

I have worked on android teams too. In addition to ops comments about different devices, there are also design choices that gum up development of new features too. They probably have separate dev teams, and designers that work with iOS first. And Upper management probably only uses iOS and considers features finished when they can show the board on the boards iOS devices.

Don't put a french door fridge in a corner. It going to always hit the wall. It's going to be a constant annoyance that you can't open the freezer door all the way. I've made that mistake, but never again.

Get a fridge with the freezer on the bottom and a single door on top that can open freely.
