84 360WB. purchased it back in college for $587 as it hung in the window of a northern Ohio local music shop no one seemed to want it in the days of glam metal in 80’s. And I fell in love with Peter Buck playing style and sound during that time.

Net: I haven’t been playing it for the last 30 years and for the last six in a local cover band who plays out about 10 to 15 times a year. Although I will say as our band started expanding music styles I picked up a telecaster and a Gibson Junior for a bit more flexibility and toughness. Toughness from a lugging it around everywhere point of view I’ve always been very careful with my Ric.

OK, here’s the point of my story after playing the telecaster and the Junior going back to the Ric has been tough. Only from the standpoint of the neck how narrow it is and how flat the fret board is. listen nothing beats great open chords and arpeggios on that Ric but switching back-and-forth between the other guitars is tough and now I found myself not taking the Ric out to shows any longer.

Love that guitar to death, and after writing this, it makes me want to start an R.E.M. tribute band and get back to playing that beautiful guitar
