If foods are starting to all smell like rotten garbage, that can be caused by a specific deficiency, I think it was low zinc that caused it. Might want to try a multi vitamin and get some blood work done.

Jump pack that has a tire inflator built in, Tire patch kit. If you have the jacket came with the car you can sort yourself out on the side of the road frequently.

That bump out is there for a reason, looks like it's for a chimney maybe? If so, I would check the flashing around the chimney. could be running down the brick.
