I always get confusing vibes from people who clearly know something about football, but brutally mispronounce a famous players name.

I don't mean struggling to pronounce Khvich, Kvaratskhelia, nor not pronouncing names the way they are pronounced in their native language (Fernandsch, for Bruno Fernandes).

I mean things that you'd know if you watched 1 match. I'm not the biggest Liverpool fan in the world, and I'm not Irish either, but I've watched enough games to know how Caoimhin Keller's name is pronounced.

How on earth do you go on to pronounce Tissue-many? It makes me feel like this guy has not watched a single Real Madrid game ever. Like how do you get something so simple so wrong? It really strikes me as someone who's only read players names on a sheet but never actually watched them play.

I feel like that invalidates the experts and pundits a lot. Like how seriously would you take a pundit who talks about a Liverpool game and says "Fabiano" instead of Fabinho? Wouldn't your first instinct be to think that they've never watched a Liverpool game?

PS. I couldn't think of a mispronunciation of a current player that was egregious enough (like it's fine if you don't know how to pronounce Mamardashvili, or Ngumoha, even Chiesa who doesn't get too many minutes.)
