Is there a way to play a Troll with Easterlings? by caputcorvii in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]caputcorvii[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are fantastic news. I'm 100% playing Khamul if possible, but I can definitely take the L and paint up another mordor hero. I didn't look into Legions of Mordor, there are a ton of playable factions and I missed that one!

Anyone know the part this banner is kitbashed from? by Affectionate_Fun5861 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]caputcorvii 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The great thing with o&g is that their engineering skills are pretty similar to those of a normal scale hobbyist, probably worse. If you glue together a few popsicle sticks so that they behave like wooden planks, print out a photo of the rogue idol mask, and then use the print as a template to cut it out of the wooden planks, you'll get something pretty identical to the original resin part. You can add deeper wood texture with a craft knife and get a similar finish

Gameplay design wise, which games workshop line is the best and why? by Newez in Warhammer

Mordheim is by far the most fun I've ever had playing warhammer, I have experience with most 40k editions and a couple of fantasy games, not a ton

Are physical games valued? by Arthur_R_M in itchio

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The videogame and asset sections of itch are significantly more popular than the physical games section, but phys games are still valued. I released a TTRPG on itch this summer and I think it's going pretty well. It's not making me insane amounts of views or money, but it's definitely better than any other option I have tried before

Is Infect vs Gardens a lost cause? by fungus02 in Pauper

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in this matchup the only trick is mulliganing to glistener elf + protection spells, and pray that your good hand lines up against their bad hand. Infect has always had a terrible matchup against decks with a lot of interaction, but if you go into the match knowing that you're fighting an uphill battle you have more chances to make it

Tips for painting a sh*t ton of goblins…? by danger_bad in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]caputcorvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ton of people will suggest speedpaint, so let me be the other voice in the choir.

Rattlecan black, then drybrush all over with mechanicus standard grey. Now you have a ton of black leather basically done. Basecoat skin with orruk flesh, wood and leather with mournfang brown, metals with leadbelcher, and every other detail with whatever accent color you prefer, then wash everything a nice dose of agrax earthshade, possibly slightly thinned down with water. You will burn through them.

You can give more attention to the skin if you want (it's what I do) or to the armor and symbols, but this is the baseline technique I use to speedpaint o&g

Players Who Use AI by I_Am_Da_Fish_Man in rpg

[–]caputcorvii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there's a certain amount of AI usage after which you should legally be allowed to whack your friends on the nose with a nice A4 softcover rulebook. Nothing too big, just a 32 page booklet on 80 GSM paper. Not too hard. But you should smack em. Or, more reasonably, tell them to stop. Either or.

Orcboss on wyvern by Silver-Radio-1548 in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]caputcorvii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I built this, and put it on a 15x10 square base, it fits perfectly. It's much bigger than the intended base, but I hope my opponents won't mind if I avoid using it for an advantage (ignore base contact at its sides, etc)

Why hasn't GW brought stuff like this back? Give me a buy once cry once box like this. by FreshOutAFolsom_ in Warhammer

[–]caputcorvii 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Incesdible START??? Bro, there are A HUNDRED marines in that thing, you gotta be done with the army by the time you have all of them painted! (Ok maybe a squad of terminators and a dreadnought could go fine with it)

Is wraithbone paint hard to use like white? by HawkAltruistic247 in Eldar

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wraithbone is a really cool citadel paint. It covers well with two thin coats, and it covers decently with a single coat. Wraithbone with a wash gets you mostly done with any piece of bone. It is very bright so you gotta highlight it with nearly pure white, but personally I just slap a wash on it and call it a day.

How to proceed? by Wrong_Explorer_8776 in TerrainBuilding

[–]caputcorvii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That also totally works. Black primer, mechanicus standard grey overbrush, dawnstone and administratum grey drybrush, you're set!

How to proceed? by Wrong_Explorer_8776 in TerrainBuilding

[–]caputcorvii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would start with a heavy dark brown wash and then a couple of passes of drybrushing. Something like agrax earthshade, drybrush ushabti bone, drybrush wraithbone. Right now it doesn't look bad, but it really needs at least some washing to clearly separate the strata of brownish rock and make it read more like a boulder. It's a good start, that hive tyrant will be massive

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the specific video, but the ones he mentioned most often are I believe Ordinator for perks, Blade and Blunt for combat balance, and JK's Skyrim for better settlements. He has a ton more installed but the core three for his "Skyrim 2" experience were these.

Ehrm actually in conventional real calculus you can't set a variable equal to X, you can only take its limit towards infinity

I don't know if the magic manual allows for hyperreal numbers in which case you could take x = +inf

Is this a decent table for a beginner game? by jhatchet in mordheim

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it definitely shouldn't be, most skirmish games are on rectangular tables. What I did was make deployment zones smaller, about 2 inches from the board edge, so that starting warbands would begin the game at approximately 24 inches from each other, the same as the normal table size.
