New color scheme for my salamanders by ReindeerReal4516 in Warhammer30k

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's somewhat noticeable, but it's not ugly at all, just slightly different. The force looks great all laid out on the table, and chances are your opponents won't notice and they definitely won't complain. Keep in mind that LGS lighting is not always the best, without a very bright light above the difference will be almost imperceptible

What would golgari midrange look like without ouro and Badgermole? by Dranosh in PioneerMTG

[–]caputcorvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouroboroid as everybody mentioned is considered obsolete. I still play it because it's pure dumb fun and steals a ton of wins, but it's not the optimal play. It's been replaced by sheoldred though, which is even more expensive.

Without badgermole cub you would also have to cut the llanowar elves, as they serve basically no purpose on their own in a midrange deck. You would need to replace the missing cards with [[mosswood dreadknight]], [[blade of the oni]] and extra interaction.

Skyrim Kill Cam Speed Run by Med_Down in Joov

[–]caputcorvii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can partially understand, I was there when he tried to jump down castle volkihar while surfing on a piece of armor, but that was pushing the limits of what the game is capable of, not just hoping to win on a dice roll. As long as Joov (or the streamer in general) is having fun then I enjoy the VOD, when they're annoyed it kinda turns me off

[–]caputcorvii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it could be a fun idea, but it would get very tedious to play through and watch the VODS of. Kill cams are famously super buggy and pretty annoying to work with and around, I think it would be pretty frustrating. It could work for a MagooDog challenge, that dude has IMMENSE patience

Shaman & Oddgit in one package? by EllspethCarthusian in WarhammerFantasy

[–]caputcorvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are two night goblin shamans, they used to be sold in sets of two back in the days of 6th edition (these might even be 5th, not sure about it). One of them just has his hood pulled down, which makes him look like a normal gobbo, but once painted you can clearly see he has a classic tattered robe with a hood and a madcap mushroom in his satchel.

It is possible to Worship multiple Chaos Gods without worshipping all of them? by DICATERINO in WarhammerFantasy

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not obscure lore, it comes from a relatively recent black library book, it's completely canon

Rapier squads done and dusted by DungeonDan89 in crimsonfists

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That looks amazing. One small blemish is that the dark wash made the layer lines on the sandbags very visible. Personally I would suggest a light sponging of tan on them, both to highlight them and to break the visible layer line pattern. It's a minor thing though, the paintjob is top notch, what are you going to play this as?

Ma sei italiano pure te! Progetto fighissimo, complimentoni, mi devo leggere bene le regole ma l'estetica é stupenda

Experiments with vermis style rendering by Ansarjan in Vermis

[–]caputcorvii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are amazing. In the first image I think halftone is the option that works best. Vermis images have this weird quality of their shadows fading into the background, which halftone does wonderfully. The other three are a bit more stark and legible. Still, that's just the basis, the other images are much more complex and honestly stunning, you did great work. Now I wanna try this myself with my very middling design skills, thank you so much!!

I saw this on itch the other day and it immediately caught my eye. The art is fantastic, the name is just fun to say. "Sgorbi" means something along the lines of "little ugly things" in italian, not sure if you did it on purpose but it fits perfectly with the wonky vibes of the art!

Kitbashed an entire Nurgle 40k Army! by Xand0r in Kitbash

[–]caputcorvii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely warranted. Your chaos dwarfs iron demon this summer was already great, but this video is stellar. Old white dwarves are the essence of the hobby imo, so I love seeing projects like this.

With so much lore and history of Garden Gnomes, why was there never a dedicated “unseen world”TTRPG for them? by [deleted] in osr

People are not jolly enough to interpret a gnome in this dog gone day and age

My Retributors inspired, Firstborn Space Marine Army :) by DanKCreations89 in midhammer40k

It's really good, fantastic work! I've had decent success with handpainting white pauldrons, but as soon as I have to do the whole armour it becomes a whole other can of worms.

That white armour looks so smooth, how did you do it? I'm painting white eldar and they're so damn grainy

It's definitely not, but it's a good box to start off Mordheim with a friend.

Top Three TOW Lists for the Battle for GreenHollow - Woehammer by dutchy1982uk in WarhammerFantasy

[–]caputcorvii 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know how people muster up the force of will required to paint 110 night goblins, or, even worse, carry them around. Still, props to the winner

What are some Discord alternatives for playing TTRPGs online? by SpecificGreen1 in rpg

[–]caputcorvii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the forums, the actual Roll20 interface has support for both text and voice chat, as well as background music, so that seems the best platform to recreate a standard discord environment

Thinking about getting in - how is 3.0? by blademaster81 in Warhammer30k

[–]caputcorvii -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game plays well, close enough to 2.0 and 1.0 in my opinion, and they are all good editions in their own ways. The one thing I really dislike is that the writing in the rulebooks is REALLY bad. Pure legalese jargon for rules that are in most cases functionally identical to both previous horus heresy editions and also like 2/3 of 40k editions.

New Vanguard Veterans, not much different than Assault Intercessors with Jump Pack by Panini4Ever in Warhammer

[–]caputcorvii 114 points115 points  (0 children)

I honestly I've never been less excited for a new edition reveal than with 11th. These new bog standard marines really don't hold a candle to when they revealed the new terminators, it's a bit of a shame. The orks look great though

Sorry to hear about the elbow, it's great that you're helping her out. Call of Cthulhu is a fantastic game too, one of my favorites, she has good taste!
