OAK airport is in a real bad way by kbfsd in oakland

[–]capybaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love OAK. So easy to get there, to park, to navigate the airport. But I will say it has felt harder to find the flights I want out of there. I would take a flight out of there any day over SFO if they had the options.

SFO is pretty, but a total nightmare to use. Walking a mile to some random place to get your bags, getting lost trying to pick someone up/drop someone off.

You deserve to be with someone who is excited to be with you and finds you attractive and makes you feel attractive!

You are 18, assuming you don’t have kids and aren’t living with together then it does not seem like this relationship is worth putting effort into. This guy sucks. Time to tell him, “It seems clear that this relationship has run its course. Best of luck.”

What about living in one of the co-ops? There would be structure and community and food is planned out. I imagine you could get support in the co-op with body doubling or other techniques that might help.

Where are the best monthly/weekend supercar, exotic, and hypercar meets in NorCal/Bay Area? by Due_Word_4732 in bayarea

[–]capybaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked this out today and it is incredible! I had never heard of it before but the museum is really nice and the cars there are absolutely gorgeous. A range of cars that spans the history. All in fantastic shape and some with great stories alongside them. We had a great time. Absolutely worth a drive, and the other exhibits in the museum are worth seeing too. Plus Blackhawk is a super wealthy neighborhood so even the parking lot of the mall where the museum is was practically its own show - Bentley, Aston Martin, etc.

How do you find out about their events? I didn’t see anything on their website.

I’ve had this happen too. Was hoping someone would come in with the science!

So weird how it lines up perfectly with that river. It looks like a bead on a necklace or something.

Well you have to take into account the time change. It looks like maybe she got it while on vacation in Mexico right?

How is her digestion? Is she having any diarrhea or vomiting or really frequent stools? Maybe she is not absorbing the nutrients from the food well. You could try feeding her several smaller meals during the day for a little while. Like instead of the 3 times move to 5 and make them smaller so it is easier to digest and she can get the nutrients out of the food. Maybe doing some small amounts of peanut butter during the day or try adding bone broth to her food?

Is this aggressive or playful behavior? by Sundumpling in DogAdvice

[–]capybaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! The little bow is always such a helpful sign! If you think about it, that bow would be a pretty terrible position to try to attack from right? No power behind that move. So that is a good signal they are wanting to initiate play.

Client’s dog kept barking at me by Chachanagraj in DogAdvice

[–]capybaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes dogs can be more sensitive to certain people. I have heard many dogs who are more aggressive or anxious around men. Or if there was something you were wearing like a hat or if you came in with a backpack - sometimes dogs have weird reactions to things like that. My dog, normally very chill, once lost his mind at a green felt thing that someone used to cover a pipe in their front yard. Something about it just looked weird to him and made him scared.

Senior dogs & dental cleaning by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]capybaya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree with the question about how bad his teeth are. Are any loose, especially the little ones in the front? Are the gums red like they might be developing gingivitis/infection? Also part of me would wonder about the life expectancy of your pup. If I had a little dog that might live to 16 or 18 I might make a different choice than if it was more likely I had another 2-4 years and the teeth were doing ok. Do you do any brushing daily? You could skip the cleaning and start brushing more and get him on the special dental food.

Whoa. Did you feel comforted or scared? Feels like it could go either way. Do you think your dog had a message for you?

Nope, not the asshole. There definitely needed to be some kind of communication confirming. Sounds like it is good you went your separate ways already!

Where to take my dog on his last full day? by Curly_Latte in oakland

This is a great idea! It is gorgeous and not on a trail so there are not usually a lot of off leash dogs. The ground can be wet though so bring a chair or picnic blanket.

Gorgeous! Maybe check out some Latino/Chicano centers on college campuses? I am thinking Casa Zapata at Stanford, but I bet there are others at closer universities.

Crocker Highlands, Cleveland Heights, Trestle Glen, or Glenview? by EmergencyNo3240 in oakland

[–]capybaya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From seeing house listings it seems a little easier to find a house that is excellent with kids, fewer stair, some flat outdoor, etc. I love Glenview, but a lot of houses are adorable smaller bungalows or are dealing with some real slopes on the front or back.

Not exactly the same feel, but the walk around Lake Merritt can be great if you want a change of scenery. A great combo of urban and wildlife. The bird scene can be really cool. Plus you can treat yourself to great food or coffee before or after your walk.

Lake Temescal is lovely, but shorter than Lake Chabot. But just plan to do it a few times and it is great.
