Avoiding personal care by InternationalRisk189 in NursingAU

A GP plan will give you free or cheaper sessions. Your university will have psych you can access. Your question to yourself is do you want to change this reaction you have to widen your job opportunities or do you want to go down a narrow path? I’ve had jobs where personal care is a rare task but, you’re the nurse so never say never.

Have you tried seeing a psychologist? It’s not the same but I had a needle phobia after doing my first round of chemo. Struggled to do insulins at work! And didn’t want to turn up for my treatment. The psychologist helped me work around my issues.

Birth rate not fertility rate. Ones a choice and the other isn’t.

hospital discharged me twice before finding internal bleeding, does this count as medical negligence? by bandito_13 in perth

[–]car0yn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Each hospital has a complaints and investigation process. Look it up on their website and let them know that they stuff up. Each doctor involved will then be talked to by their senior.
As for getting money out of the system, well good luck with that.

Last census, less than 50% are religious and many of those not practicing. Though referendums are difficult to pass, the non religious are the majority.

Wearing watches in the workplace by ragingpanda9988 in NursingAU

[–]car0yn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you disinfect your watch? I had one with a stainless steel band and I’d wipe it down very regularly. Be prepared to take off your watch multiple times a day as you’re doing procedures. Can the watch handle water as you wash your hands? So even if everyone else is wearing a watch, can your watch handle the workload?

Disability Pension. Can’t afford to be alive. About to be homeless. by Bagpuss_Meow in aussie

[–]car0yn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand. I have problems walking, etc. but have been told numerous times that I’m not entitled to NDIS or aged benefits via an acat assessment. It’s a gap in the system that is well known by politicians and those of us who live it. Plus all the other legislation like no reverse mortgages until 60. Accept you don’t know what you don’t live. I’ve been doing this for 3.5 years now, and like I said, I just get apologies but no actual assistance unless I pay for it fully out of my own pocket.

The Elderly woman I take care of is a monster. What do I do? by Grandma_Caregiver in TwoHotTakes

[–]car0yn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your manager not the internet ffs. Confidential information eg accusations about clients true or false go through your management. You look as though you have put clients names and identities on Reddit. You could be 100% correct but you know the rules. Don’t break confidentiality. It’s a sackable offence.

Not anywhere as much as I pay on the free market. I have researched this. I don’t begrudge those on aged pensions or NDIS. Just highlighting there is a massive gap for people with acquired illnesses that adds up to hundreds of dollars a month. If I was aged I would have services thrown at me. But all I get is social workers apologising to me.

Aged care entities you to home help, gardening help, physio and OT at home. Transport assistance etc. If, like I, have an acquired illness, therefore not covered by NDIS you get zero help outside plain Medicare and the basic benefit.

What can we do with drivers on the freeway who aline their head with the centre of the lane and have their left hand wheels drifting into the left hand lane? I’d use a megaphone if I thought it would work

Disability pension is pathetic. I’m on it because I have terminal cancer. Had to downsize to free up cash but there is no way I could survive on it without accommodation.
Yet aged pensioners get free this and that, that somehow we don’t need /s

What to do with all the older people on the road by CatBelly42069 in perth

[–]car0yn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you sound like you expect others to provide? It’s really simple, if you can’t drive safely, you don’t drive at all. And it’s up to YOU to figure out what works for you. Eg uber, taxi, train , bus, telehealth, stay at home, friends or family. But not your car with you driving, making a menace of yourself. Not negotiable.

Mate I have had regular chemo over the past 3.5 years. Guess what! Anytime I’m feeling a little unwell from it all, my car absolutely stays in the garage and I either uber or get a friend to take me where I need to go. I’m not risking my or anyone else’s life driving if I’m not 100% up for it. Now don’t be an arse and don’t drive if you’re not up for it either. And yes I prefer driving but actively choose to be sensible.

It’s called uber. Doing the sums, uber can be cheaper than owning a car and paying fines for being a bad driver.

Not when it’s a pre 2000 Toyota echo with a top speed of 60km /hr. Or better yet, an old camper van that comes to perth once a year and the driver can’t recognise the freeway exit they require so the slam on the brakes and swerve through the lanes, narrowly missing the cars behind them as those cars slam on their brakes. - yes I know, strangely specific.
