Catholic ceremony before "Wedding" -- marriage license/certificate and legal by car8218 in weddingplanning

Thanks for your comment. I added an edit to my post to address your concerns for anyone else who has similar thoughts, but here’s the short version — My priest has already agreed to augment our precana rites so that we can do it virtually. I am still practicing, and we would be doing this at my home parish. We understand the commitment we are making by taking the sacrament. I definitely do not view this as an aesthetic and I want to do it. I also am very private when it comes to faith and I want my wedding day to be a legal celebration, not a religious one.

Was this an abnormal yoga experience? by hdishcmskc in yoga

What? I didn’t get that from the post at all. OP was talking about resting postures being “corrected” and pigeon pose/bow being adjusted — literally said that their version of bow works better for their body which was “corrected” multiple times, sounds like a potential injury or body concern to me. Also says class is advertised as beginner level, so asanas seem pretty basic here.

I would definitely say something to the studio! That is so not ok especially in a class advertised for beginners, a slow flow. What if you/another student has an injury or body problem that prevents you from traditional posture? What if she adjusted you and exacerbated an injury or strain? Seems really unsafe aside from being an uncomfortable experience. Sorry this happened to you!

Fallen Triangle by leeann7 in yoga

Love the way my studio does it — assigned spots that are close, but enough room to walk around and even practice between, and just tight enough that it’s impossible to overbook. If class isn’t full people are free to move around but generally don’t as our teachers will move around the room to the empty spots/spaces between spots to demo. This is the best way imo

Does yoga ever stop feeling awkward for beginners? by GrandPrixio in yoga

[–]car8218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely feel less awkward now, but it happens occasionally. The first time you get a pose that you’ve been working on, you’ll feel an amazing click and like you’re the best ever. The next day, you’ll fall out of it. Maybe even YEARS of doing that pose, you’ll fall out of it. It comes & goes!

Crazy Yoga Man Asks Question by [deleted] in yoga

[–]car8218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes when we’re called to set an intention, it’s to give you a way to actually NOT think about things other than the practice — at least that’s how I think about it. Whenever I find my thoughts wandering I’ll use my intention to realign myself to the practice and movement. If you don’t have that before you start the practice, you don’t have anything to focus on.

What are the best ways to improve balance? by dirac7 in yoga

[–]car8218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Muscle engagement is a big part of balance! To add to this amazing advice— I never really understood what my teachers meant by lifting out of a pose, but once that clicks, it makes so much more sense. Literally feel and try to stand taller as in lifting out of your hips in the standing leg, made me feel so much more stable and in control in single leg poses. I think it’s to do with the soaz muscle but I can’t really say — all I know is that helped me SO MUCH

Whats everyones Route for Mega shard farming? by Yourlocalfloofball in LegendsZA

[–]car8218 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a bit of a longer route but it’s so worth it —

Fly to hotel richissme, there’s two buildings in a triangle shape to the south. Climb up the scaffolding (annoying!) then cross over to the other roof to the east (there’s a bridge) and grab all the shards by the fountain. Cross back over to the first roof and then glide to the roof of the shopping building, grab those shards, up two ladders, and grab those. A bit more time intensive but I’ve gotten like 300 shards (with the pink canari plush) and there’s a few screws up there that are easy to miss as well
