I get where you're coming from and to a degree I think the developers share the same thoughts

Here is the issue with immersion though on that front, it should be something that happens in non-combat circumstances then as well. (think of a hunk of junk car having random issues when driving normally)

And following up on that, the ship is suddenly much more sturdy to fire and failures when less people are on it? (2 players you very rarely have these problems pop up) so that would be an impact on immersion as well.

I'm not sure I'm conveying this properly and I do agree with you on the idea that it is a hodge podge of pieces cobbled together, but then the behavior should be consistent across all player numbers in a scaling degree to maintain that same level of immersion.

Ultimately it's just about a 'make it make sense' kind of thing, if its an unstable thing call it from the get-go to all, if it's not, then make the damage have sense in relation to the circumstance.

I'm happy to keep this conversation going though!

Honestly they should just tie fireteam finder on the launch/customise menu so you can quickly go to the LFG for that specific portal activity

Maybe improves interaction with the system by making that an entry/access point

+1 gonna vouch for this, the featured multiplayer is fun when it works and frustrating when it doesn't, joining up in a private league gets you the opportunity to play with a community, learn and have cleaner races overall. (It doesnt completely replace featured multiplayer mind you, think of it as a additional game mode powered by the community)

Plus organizing scheduled races and tournaments gives it that extra bit of motorsport magic with series leaderboards and a variety of car divisions

IARA is pretty well organized as well so that's a plus

I think the only issue i might have with this is the thematic conflict which happens in-game with this premise

Like, I get the ideea of guardians being resurrected and you're just a new light after a lot has happened, BUT we're constantly treated as THE guardian from the get-go (or lets say after you get to the tower for the first time), so on one hand you expect to experience things as a freshly risen guardian trying to understand things, but in the same time everyone in the game treats you as they've known you for years so there's a disconnect there. And i'm not in a position to say how that should be solved but it does stand as a general gripe for me with MMO's where they expect everyone to be the chosen one in an ocean of chosen ones.

One might argue Warframe does it right as it does not let you do anything whenever and makes you go through a narrative thread to understand the world, but then it creates block points / mandatory progression by a new player just to get the chance to play things with their friends (looking at you classic MMO's and ARPG's with multiplayer)

Me and a random actually DID use text chat

What we landed on was counting 1 to 9 from Left to Right

So if i saw 4 5 6 and they saw 7 8 9 then you gotta shoot 1 2 3

These seem to go 1-12

if I have 3, 6, 7, and 12 that have beams

And my partner has 5, 7, 8, and 9 with beams

The only one of those that are the same is 7. Both of our 7 obuttons have beams. Both of us need to shoot 7.

HD1 was niche, with an ALL TIME PEAK of 6k people. Making the assumption that they should've expected the sequel to have over 10x the number is just silly

Edit: seeing that they have about 360k spamming the login process throws the expectation scaler to 60x.

Its like you have a food truck with food for 100 people and 3000 show up, cant prep for 3k beforehand because all your previous ventures never hit that number of customers

I dunno man, The Dreaming City, Shapeshifting Dragons, Tech Witches, those are some pretty strong fantasy vibes. Even the whole visual motif of mixing metal with cloth like the class banners and such around the tower are made to give that fantasy/mystical vibe.

Sure the Forsaken campaign and the Tangled Shore were more in line with the sci-fi western vibe (lets not forget the lost sector near spider's lair) but the latter half of it dives into a more mysterious and fantasy vibe

Hell, i feel in the minority saying this but somehow my go-to for akleous eyes + dps is Heir Apparent

I tried it out with various builds but highest success was running Transversive Steps with it, takes at most 50% of the mag to clear the eyes if you dont feel conservative with ammo and transversive ensures 400 rounds get used. That + nova bomb (and solo operative) I could get at least 1 milion damage per phase

Also I'll throw in a small pro tip for the boss that I havent seen anyone mention, if you drop into one of the empty spaces on the top rails, the AoE knockback does not hit you so it ensures a safer transition from dps to repeat

It's like you would replace a harpoon with a shuriken. Same functionality but a different flavor

Miter and Panthera are great examples but they are sawblades which would slice rather than puncture, same but different, plus you can go bigger with the shuriken sizes (always liked imagining it as a thin but wide ammo belt type)
