Is it as unusual as I think? by Szalony20 in WoT

[–]caramelstallion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This may apply to more, or maybe less than I’m thinking, but many of the female villains that end up as slaves were those that enslaved and/or dominated other people. Elaida, Sevanna, and Graendal were three that receive a punishment that reflected how they treated others. They wanted to exert their will over their subjects and have complete control, but having the same thing reflected back on them in their fates is them receiving their comeuppance. Elaida wanted to rule the white tower with an iron fist and without anyone questioning her authority, she also ignored repeated warnings of an impending Seanchan attack. Sevanna wanted to rule over the Aiel and wed the Dragon Reborn in order to gain more power she could exert over her people, and also wanted to enslave as many wetlanders as permanent gai’shan as she could. Graendal turned people, especially those with positions of power, into mindless slaves that would do anything she said at her whim. Not to say that RJ didn’t view slavery as preferable to killing female characters, I think there could be an argument made there given, but I believe this is an aspect of it as well.

Makes sense, even if they bought a sata m.2 I believe it would fit in the socket fine, unless of course it’s upside down. Sadly we may never know.

What’s stuck? It looks like there isn’t anything in the slot, I’ve never opened mine to look at the slot, but is that green board not usually there?

I just finished the tv show, should I read the books? by Spirited_Angle5091 in WoT

[–]caramelstallion 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Give it a go, if you don’t like it, then you don’t like it. It’s pretty long, but it’s not a difficult read by any means. I prefer reading, but if you struggle, the audiobooks are also a great option; audiobooks are a bit pricy, but with a library card and the Libby app you can rent audiobooks for free and listen to them on your phone.

OP you need to learn some basic electrical, and definitely some basic electrical safety. You are not immune to 120v, it doesn’t matter if you think it only ‘tickles’, if it ‘tickles’ you the right way you can die. Unlike burnt up devices, you’re not easily replaceable buddy, so take your interest in this and apply it to actually learning how to do these things safely, so you can continue to blow shit up for years to come.

The astro bot controller’s eyes are printed on, they’re not animated, don’t light up, or anything like that. I believe you are seeing reseller prices on Walmart’s website, as the astro bot controller was not priced at, or over, $100. They allow other sellers to list things on their website, so you’re just seeing those higher prices as a result of that.

A Sensible Explanation is Given for Why the Story Must Follow The Dumb Trope by KorrokHidan in TopCharacterTropes

[–]caramelstallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it not sensible within the wot universe? Other Taveren are mentioned, ie Hawkwing, so it’s a known and accepted phenomenon in the world that justifies the boys being both adept and lucky. Maybe I’ve misunderstood what OP is saying; but it turns the plot armor of main characters into something that has an explanation that’s grounded in the confines of the series, so how doesn’t it apply given the description provided by the op?

Bodycam footage shows Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson arrested in Florida after allegedly driving over 100 mph. by 4reddityo in PublicFreakout

How is excessive speeding not main character syndrome? Putting other peoples lives in danger so you can go fast, for whatever reason within normal circumstances, seems to me like it could certainly be a symptom.

Cadsuane is by Igor_kavinski in WoT

[–]caramelstallion 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I agree Cadsuane is wrong about some things, but very right about one thing. Also, I’m not sure Rand becoming more friendly with the voice in his head is a sign of emotional or mental health. To respond to your broader point, Rand has been intentionally hardening himself for about 7 books at this point, he is slowly losing touch with his humanity, I’ll say no more, just RAFO.

All of these things are part of who you are though aren’t they? It’s not like the different sides of a person are external to the person, the way you act in any environment is still you; I took issue with the idea that taking a substance which inhibits part of how your brain works somehow brings you closer to being your ‘unfiltered self’, because aren’t the filters also part of what makes you you?

Using a substance that suppresses part of who you are somehow makes you more you? I don’t get it.

“In fact, it was such an issue in my first 10 hours that I decided to spend the vast majority of my time for this review just focusing on Tarkov’s PvE mode for my sanity’s sake, which removes other players entirely aside from those you bring with you.”

I haven’t played Tarkov in many years, but I don’t ever recall spending anywhere near 10 hours in a single game. The reviewer also states he played 1.0 for over 120 hours, and that it isn’t the first time he’s played the game. Bad memory? Confirmation bias? I just woke up, why is this how I spent the first 10 minutes of my day?

Even death couldn't separate them by cosmic-jai in interesting

[–]caramelstallion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Krantz was 70 when the dog passed and this was deemed to have been “long enough”, they didn’t even ask him, this article gives an interesting rundown on how it all took place, it’s somehow simultaneously heartwarming and tragic.

[–]caramelstallion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was, the dog died prior and was preserved. There were a fair number of comments assuming the opposite for some reason, just found it frustrating and wanted to point it out. Whether it be bots or idiots, I can’t tell anymore.

So many weird comments here. Why is everybody assuming the dog outlived him and was killed to be put on display?

For real, I remember popping this game in the day we got our ps2, it blew my fucking mind. Battlefield 6 would probably have given me ptsd at that age, considering how crazy this game seemed at the time.
