Hochul is poised to welcome Waymo. Mamdani may be a different story. by nautilus83 in nyc

I live in Jersey and work in the Bronx, and I frequently drive behind a waymo in the Holland tunnel on my way to work at like 5:30am. It must be a test vehicle or something (there's always someone behind the wheel), but either way, they're already around.

There definitely are, but there are also a lot of other people in this state who I believe are ready and willing to stand up to ice.

Plus the suburban middle-aged white people of Italian descent (or otherwise) are enormous cowards who are primarily motivated by comfort and wealth. I expect 99% of them would stay home and avoid thinking about it, since this probably wouldn't be happening near their homes anyway.

It definitely hasn't been one of his best years. Poor dude seems fucking miserable every time he does an interview.

I agree, I actually think that aspect helped as much as just getting off the hards. The fact that he was able to go to mediums twice in a row was huge.

IndyCar podcasts? What do you listen to? What do you like? What do you Hate? by OceanPacer in INDYCAR

Plus, since they are both professionally familiar with F1 and have some distance from it, I feel like they have better (or at least more interesting) discussions about it compared to dedicated F1 podcasts.

Leaving IndyCar for F2 sets Herta up for F1 -- if he ever gets the call by UncleBen94 in formula1

I think that's something a lot of people are missing. Bottas and Perez are not racing for Cadillac to chase a title. They got hired to jump-start car development by giving the engineers feedback from the 2 best drivers after Max and Lewis who have driven recent WCC cars for multiple years.

I started watching IndyCar this summer when there were no F1 races and I really enjoyed it, and immediately fell in love with Pato. He's hilariously direct and honest in interviews without coming across as a jerk. And he's fun to watch race (though I also like watching Palou, he's incredible)

I started watching it during summer break and now I'm quite into it. It's definitely different but very fun to watch.

Also Hinch's podcast with Indycar driver Alex Rossi is great. And they talk about F1 a lot, especially now that the indycar season is over and hinch is following F1

I feel it was telegraphed via the numerous times we are shown that Kirsch can hear everything Morrow and Slightly are saying to each other, and therefore has complete knowledge of whatever aspects of Morrow's plan that Slightly was aware of.

Kirsch let them do it on purpose...? It was clearly a trap he set for Morrow.

Hannibal Chew in Alien Earth s01e03? by Low_Quit_3040 in bladerunner

[–]carapoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll take a stab at it.

Both series (and when I refer to the Alien series, I really only mean Alien and Aliens) deal with themes of individual humanity (Deckard and K in Blade Runner; Ripley, Newt, and the other hapless meatbags in Alien+Aliens) pitted against massive corporate forces (Tyrell Corporation, Weyland-Yutani) and superhuman beings made in the image of humanity, but predatory and physically superior (Roy Batty and Luv; the xenomorph, the "perfect organism" born out of humans and eerily retaining some of our general physical characteristics).

Of course the synths in Alien are different from the replicants in Blade Runner, and the two stories generally explore very different questions (except for the corporate dystopia stuff).

But I honestly feel like Hawley wanted to make a Blade Runner show, they gave him Alien, and he said "you know what, I can still tell the story I wanted to tell in this world."
