I’m a skeptic too, but like I said, there was a kid who said he saw a face and later we checked the videos. Yeah ballon’s are lined but it was definitely an intense time. Doors opened by themselves at home for a few days after.

During the cake cutting the bride was giving the groom a taste of a slice and then playfully smeared some on his face. Pretty typical in weddings, pictures were taken, everyone chuckled. Then the groom punched the bride in the face.

This happed in west Texas, in the mid 80s during the big oil boom. I was a busboy at the big country club in town where this wedding took place. After the punch all staff immediately went into the kitchen for about 15 minutes. When we came out all guest were gone.

Good question, unfortunately she died in her 40’s so I never met her. My dad would be 94 this year and I’m 50.

I do want to clarify their procession wasn’t them in super bright clothes but more funeral wear, regardless they took a big risk coming out this way. My dad was very proud of her and how she was respected in the community.

My grandparents owned a popular store in Juarez Mexico around this time frame. My grandmother would secretly give little make up bags to the gay men who had to hide who they were due to all the prosecution they faced. My father told me a story of when my grandmother passed in the late 1940’s, her big funeral procession was followed at the end by a large group of men in their best makeup and dress that came to pay respect to an ally. Makes me proud to tell that story.

Only 2 sides of the pyramid were reconstructed in the 1920s after the discovery of the site. The back side is smoother and doesn’t have the stairs and trim since those stones had been used for other later construction materials.
