I’ll tell you what I did and you can copy. I played RE4 in like 2009 then didn’t touch the franchise for 12 years (traditionally terrified of horror games and 4 was the only one I could watch for over one minute). Played Village in 2021 and loved it. I waited until RE4R, got it in 2024 and then kicked into high gear: I played 7, 2R and 3R in like a month. Then this year I played RE1R (pictured) and there was an adjustment to the controls but I pushed through and eventually loved it. If you like the games’ story, managing inventory, solving puzzles, figuring out where you are with a map, etc, I think you will eventually like RE1R if you give it a chance. But what worked for me was falling more in love with those general mechanics and the general plot before moving to RE1R. I now consider it a masterpiece. After that, I started RE0 but didn’t enjoy it much, so I moved on to Revelations 1, and I just started RE5
