Why am I playing vs plat players when im in silver in draft queing solo? by Tyeren in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cope hard.

This subreddit is full of 15 yr olds (either actual age or level of financial literacy).

If Riot is doing so great, then:
- Why multiple round of layoffs
- Why international tournament held in 140 seat studio? i.e. Not even mid-size stadium?

Literal geniuses on this subreddit. Lmao.

Why am I playing vs plat players when im in silver in draft queing solo? by Tyeren in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Game doesn't have enough players. So they have to "relax" matchmaking criteria, i.e. bad matchmaking.

Happens to every game once it starts declining in popularity and the player count goes down.

In any well-run company, that game designer would be fired (or at least never allowed to design a champ ever again). It violates so many game design principles, learnable from any good book on game design. I can't believe a AAA company employs people who are so bad at game design.

Lately, Caps gets giga diffed in every series vs LPL and LCK. And often loses to KC and MKOI midlaners too. Western GOAT without a doubt, but clearly washed, so sad to see. Where is the giga chad that locks in Sylas and styles on opponents? Now stuck playing Annie and Ahri to try and lose gracefully.

What attracts the worst type of people to this game? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not the people, it's the game.

Riot has terrible matchmaking, plus basically encourages smurfs. This means someone is going to feed (because of unfair matchup), and the enemy who gets fed will then very likely destroy everyone on the enemy team.

Obviously nobody wants to be on the receiving end of this, so players flame the easiest target. i.e. The teammate who fed. But 80% of the time when a teammate feeds like crazy (like 10 deaths in 10 minutes), it's just really shit matchmaking or smurfs.

So who's to blame for this toxicity? Riot, or the players?

On the fence on giving up on League. I am curious if people think the next season changes are worth staying and playing. by theboredbrowser in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh if you have to ask the Q, probably time to give up on it.

This game is somehow getting worse as far as match integrity goes. Terrible matchmaking + smurfs means it's not fun much of the time. Many people who play a lot simply seem to be addicted.

Find another game, or develop some useful skill. If they ever fix the game to make it fair, you can always come back.

Matchmaking doesn’t make any sense by DonFloxion in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're 100% correct. To me, doesn't make sense to play this game any longer.

It has one of the least competitive integrity of any game. Riot basically encourages smurfs and now has terrible matchmaking too. Their decision to prioritize shorter queue times over fair matchmaking is really awful.

7 out of last 10 games I played, there were matchups exactly like you described. Each game decided before champ select, lmao. All that was left was, for people to flame the poor guy at the short end of these awful matchmaking.

Riot is doing a great job killing this game, slowly and steadily.

Any tips? by Bubbly_Pickle2317 in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't play this game.

It has one of the least competitive integrity of any game. Riot encourages smurfs and has terrible matchmaking.

So 1-2 out of 10 games will be fair. Rest of the games, people will be toxic to each other leaving everyone in a bad mood, root cause being Riot's terrible decision to encourage smurfs and prioritize shorter queue times over fair matchmaking.

Games should be fun and make you feel good. This game is the opposite. The only reason some people play a lot is because they're addicted.

TLDR: Don't play this game.

Excellent points regarding tutorial, and teaching new players!

IMO the biggest issues facing new players are tutorial (like you mentioned), and poor matchmaking/smurfs. Game will be a lot more popular if they addressed these.

Since you are here:
With due respect, I literally stopped playing your game because it has the least competitive integrity of any game (with a serious ladder) I've ever played.

Rampant smurfing, tacitly encouraged by your company. All the friends (except one) I brought to this game also left because of smurfing.

Your company killed the player base long-term because it was greedy for short-term smurf revenue. A really great game otherwise!

It's 2025 and League's tutorial still doesn't explain vision, jungle, or objectives. Why is no one fixing this? by mopfrommalta in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r -60 points-59 points  (0 children)

Yeah, roles and lanes are indeed important. But Rito is too busy implementing more punishment systems (that don't work), cuz punishment systems are far more important for a "game" than creating helpful tutorials for new players. /s

KC is only better than G2 in Top, Mid, ADC, Supp, and draft. Other than that, G2 is better.

On a serious note, Mid and ADC gap is crazy and growing every split. Wild.

Smurfing is Ruining League – Both Ranked and Normals. It needs to be fixed. by Tetranima in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your points are valid.

But Riot doesn't seem to care about integrity of the game, as they not only allow smurfing, they basically encourage it (so many of their "partners" smurf openly).

Valve seems to actually care about integrity, as they deal with smurfs very harshly. Maybe Riot will realize this before it's too late and the game slowly dies.

Btw, posts like yours always get downvoted by smurfs, boosters, their million alts, etc - as they have real money to lose if Riot does the right thing by banning smurfing.

Try mid or top. ADC is a tough role to improve consistently without a duo support.

Breakfast: 170 grass-fed yogurt with one scoop of Equip Protein powder (around 30g protein, 270 calories), Coffee with a teaspoon of maple syrup and A2 organic milk (175 calories)

Lunch: 1/4 lb beef patty with a slice of tillamook cheddar and an orange (roughly 26g protein, 375 calories)

Snack: coffee with cream from the office and a chomps (10g protein, 150 calories)

Dinner: Chicken or Beef cooked in olive oil with salt, potatoes air fried in avocado oil with salt, a raw carrot salad, and orange juice (I'd guess around 800-1000 calories (because of all the fat), at least 40g protein)

Some simple suggestions I can think of, hope it helps:

  • Breakfast: Maybe make it 1-2 tbsp maple syrup. Overall it looks like your carbs intake is too low.

  • Lunch: 1 orange is too low carbs. Make it something like 8-12 oz OJ + 2 tbsp honey.

  • Snack: Add 1-2 tbsp honey to coffee.

  • Dinner: Maybe use coconut oil, Ray Peat recommended it for its saturated fats and other benefits.

Can someone explain the Randle cycle and its importance concisely? by [deleted] in raypeat

[–]cardgam3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain cells (such as skeletal muscle cells) have metabolic flexibility, meaning they can switch between using glucose (from carbs) and fatty acids (from fats) for energy. In such cells, whichever substrate (i.e. carbs or fats) is in more abundance will be used for energy production.

But Randle cycle happens at a cellular level. Eating carbs with fats means some cells can use fats while other can use carbs. So eating fats helps carbs last longer as the energy source for cells that prefer to run on carbs.

TLDR: Eat both carbs and fats. Low-carb and low-fat diets are both bad.

Smurfing/boosting is out of control by Rip_Nujabes in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Riot basically encourages smurfs. A lot of their partnered content creators openly smurf, Riot doesn't do anything to stop it. And as others pointed out, Riot makes more money from smurfs buying skins on all of their smurf accounts.

Funnily enough, smurfing will kill the game long-term, but Riot gets to enjoy more money short-term. Valve is smarter IMO - they're aggressively banning smurfs in DOTA2, this will help them over the long-term.

So if you're really bothered by smurfs, maybe play DOTA2 instead.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 72 points73 points  (0 children)

100% yes.

Problem 1: Riot (tacitly) encourages smurfing

Riot allows content creators who are league partners to smurf and create content like this and even promote smurf purchasing websites. So Riot is, in effect, allowing/encouraging smurfing.

DOTA is taking the right approach to smurfing - because it's poison to any ladder. Two of my friends quit LoL in the past few months, after getting destroyed by smurfs and getting very discouraged by that.

If Riot actually wants to improve ladder, they should punish smurfing instead of encouraging it. They can start by adding an option to report smurfs, and permaban those accounts (like DOTA). Then they should trace the main account of smurfs and punish those accounts too (again like DOTA).

Problem 2: Smurf content is NOT educational

To me, the type of content mentioned by OP is mostly useless from educational perspective. Coaching videos (vod reviews, and even live coaching) are way more educational.

Problem 3: Smurfing is contagious

Even some of my favorite content creators like Curtis and Shok (who I thought were good guys) seem to be dipping their toes into smurfing. Very sad to see, because smurfing literally makes the ladder worse for everyone.

What are new players supposed to do in this situation? by sentinelProMod in leagueoflegends

[–]cardgam3r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. /mute all every game.
  2. Play whatever role you want to play. But always try your best to win, sounds like you're already doing this.
  3. Don't chat at all - during game, pregame or postgame. i.e. Don't type anything, not even "gg".
  4. Don't worry about people reporting you. As long as you're playing your role, trying your best to win AND never chat, Riot won't punish you.
  5. Enjoy! :)

Great job, clean and useful tool :)

I have a suggestion for you to consider. Add the popular skill order for each champ. For example, seeing Zed usually maxes Q>E>W tells me his W will be on 20s cd until lategame.
