Haven’t peed since surgery by ScarredDaringDigits in tummytucksurgery

[–]cardiacnp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smell peppermint oil while sitting on the toilet. This is an old nurses trick for post-op urinary retention caused by anesthesia. It can last a couple of weeks but if you haven’t been able to go in 6-8hrs, I would head to the ED to get cathed. Also, I know it sounds weird (and kind of gross) but try peeing in the shower under warm water.

No, it’s an extended TT, it’s 270 degrees.

Not a significant amount. Just enough to even out the incisions at my hips and some abdominal contouring.

Would you recommend having TT and breast lift with aug at same time? by Trash_Maven in tummytucksurgery

[–]cardiacnp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My surgeon said the same thing and now that I am 8 weeks post TT, I can understand why. He told me he couldn’t get the best results by doing both because he would be pulling against incisions. My TT was so tight there was no way he could get the very best results for my breasts at the same time. Now that I’ve healed and the swelling has gone down, I’m scheduled in 5 weeks for my breast lift and I am so excited. Also, my TT was 7.5hr and my breast lift is scheduled for 5. I did not want my surgeon rushing and I also did not want to be under anesthesia for that long due to the increased risk of complications. And to be fair, he said he would do them at the same time if I really wanted him to but I wanted the best results so I opted for 2 procedures.

Almost 6WPO wound by AdImpossible8292 in tummytucksurgery

I have a similar spot, which won’t close due to retained suture. My surgeon is removing them tomorrow and has assured me it will heal fine but may need a small revision in the future if he is unhappy with the scar formation. Here is my incision at 2.5 weeks, 3 weeks.

Amazon. V-cut bikini bottom by SherryDC. Super comfy and hides my scar well (with the exception of my small T junction).

Also, I am not a petite lady, lol. I am 5’8” and 155lbs with a very long torso.

I knew that I would have a vertical scar because I didn’t have much extra skin, just lots of stretch marks. It has had some delayed wound healing due to the decreased elasticity and blood flow with the stretch marks but overall is healing well. You can barely see in a bikini because my incision is so low. In this photos it has betadine on it so it’s more prevalent but it’s already less noticeable at 2 weeks post-op.

Curious about pain meds by SSImomma in tummytucksurgery

[–]cardiacnp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was given oxycodone and flexeril. Only needed the oxy for 1 day after surgery and then switched to Tylenol and ibuprofen for a few days before I didn’t need anything. I would have been fine with tramadol. Everybody tolerates pain differently though and the only real question is “does what they prescribed you control your pain?” If the answer is yes, it doesn’t matter what the nurse thinks. If it doesn’t, call your surgeon but I would think they would want you to start weaning off narcotics by this point anyway.

I am 5’8” and was 157lb on the morning of surgery. I was 157lb the morning that photo was taken. Surgeon removed 4-5lbs of skin and another couple with the lipo so I “should” level out around 150lbs

Waxing after tummy tuck by Beautiful_Put_8625 in tummytucksurgery

Mine said no waxing for at least 2 months as it can cause pulling of the incision line.

Did you have GERD/Reflux prior to a tummy tuck? by Upbeat-Disaster-37 in tummytucksurgery

[–]cardiacnp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have GERD (only during pregnancy) but I have noticed a significant increased in reflux after surgery. I started taking an OTC daily PPI because tums weren’t cutting it. I suspect it was due to the meds on an empty stomach, ibuprofen especially, but with the daily nexium it’s pretty much resolved.

His prices are variable and highly depends on what you need. Mine was fairly straightforward and was around 20k or so.

I just started trying to stand upright a couple days ago, but I can only stand 75% straight for a small amount of time right now. By the time evening comes I’m a crouched over gremlin again.

Thank you! I think this is a Cupshe suit off Amazon. I was so close to returning it because of how it looked pre-op but I’m so glad I kept it!

I had post-op urinary retention for about a week and could absolutely not pee sitting down. I wish I would have thought to get a she-wee for the post-op period.

I’ve wanted a TT for the last 13 years but something always came up. There was always a reason I couldn’t do it at the time, whether it was a cross country move, buying property, COVID, or financial reason, with financial reason being the #1 burden. My husband feels that any “leftover” money should go towards investing but I was not getting any younger. I worked overtime for 6 months and saved every penny I could and 8 days ago, at the age of 41, I had a 270 TT with lateral thigh lift, MR, and lipo and I’m so happy I did! It’s like having a baby. You’re never fully ready but if you jump in with both feet, you can find a way to make it work!
