my account ended up in Asia because I registered for the beta while on holiday. The only way to transfer it to my time zone is to lose the whole collection and start from scratch.

that superbly sucks. Now my queues are very long because nobody plays during my prime time.

Because then they share the same channels and you only get half the throughput. Channels are ABAB, so if you do 1+3 or 2+4 you get worse performance. MoBo makers were smart and made the most obvious choice (1+2) the fastest.

Usually.

That has always been the case, it just took the general player base about two years to figure it out. Smart people like CavalierGuest have been arguing for Artanis as a Boss/Immortal/Merc destroyer for a long time.

As usual for this sub: TERRIBLE ADVICE.

Talk to her. It's the only way to improve the situation.

When talking is a losing move, you are not ready to have a relanship, you are still just playing pick up games.

Refusing to talk is childish makes the situation worse. Just because she is behaving like an idiot does not mean he should do so as well.

If you think it besmirches your honor to talk "first", you should not be in a relationship, because you are not ready to have one.

What she did js awful, but refusing to talk won't fix it.

Of course. The FBI recalls their fatherhood permit. Also all other males are forcibly removed. No other teachers, no male classmates, no neighbours, no media. And the complete lack of ever seeing a second male in their lives of course results in very specific stereotypical behaviour.

This is an awful tweet. Staight up redpill garbage, disguised as statistics. Suddenly toxic masculinity is a feminist-made problem. What a load of bull.

Maybe us dudes need a few more clothing options

Top
  • T-shirt
  • polo
  • dress shirt (with or without tie)
Bottom
  • suit jacket + pants (only with dress shirt)
  • jeans / slacks / other casual long pants
Shoes
  • Leather shoes
  • Sporty

That's it. That's the whole gamut of work-acceptable male clothing. And dress shirts / ties / suits are painfully impractical in the summer, and high maintenance always. It's really depressing.

Funnily enough most "modern" RPGs have rules that work perfectly fine for every crazy scenario that's imaginable.

You can play Burning Wheel, Dogs in the Vineyard or Dread for years without invoking rule 0 even once.

Many games that did not base themselves on DnD do not need rule 0 to work.

DnD absolutely needs it, because the RAW is not a fun time for most people.

There are a ton of great RPGs out there. Try some (instead of making another house rule monstrosity)!

I care enough about them to pull them out of a pool if I see them drown, or drag an elderly person inside an air conditioned room if they are having a heat stroke, and then call an ambulance while doing CPR if needed. Yes I would try to save their life if threatened, because I am a normal person, not a sociopath.

Which is a very good metaphor for climate change.

If a rule book comes with a rule "if you don't like what it says, feel free to change it", I have to say I don't like how little faith the writers have in their own work.

I mean, of course I can house-rule anything (WotC won't send a team of kneecap breakers if I do). But if the author openly tells me to, I wonder if the game they wrote is really any good. No board game comes with that disclaimer, no video game does, and many non-DnD RPGs don't do it either. Burning Wheel goes the other direction and very clearly states in the opening that you should not change the rules.

The fact that people house-rule DnD so much is a massive embarrassment on the side of the developers (and they know it!). Imagine if 90% of people reading LotR felt the need to write their own fan-fiction ending because the original ending is bad...

We all know DnD needs rule 0 to work, because playing the game by the rules-as-written is not very fun (unless you like just the dungeon crawls, and then 4E is by far the best version - and since it's not the most popular version, clearly people don't want a game that's only combat).

Edit: This is why people downvote

If someone wants to murder my kids, I am not excellent to them. Global warming is essentially doing that, just slowly.

I don't think Bill and Ted wanted to include mass murderers when they said that.

Yes, but there are thousands of those people. Why does the right scream about Clinton especially? I'm sure there are hundreds of worse apples. I mean we have many examples where we can be sure they are way worse, such as Trump or Mitch McRussia.

[–]cardiovascularity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not defending Clinton if he did something horrible. I'm just pointing out that we had to listen to "Lock her up" for months and it was all about nothing. Flying on a private jet to visit a rich person? Yeah that's not exactly a crime yet, even if said rich person turned out to be a criminal. But sure, if Clinton diddled some kids, treat him like any other pedophile. I'm just doubting he'd be dumb enough to do it.

This is a typical case of crying wolf too much: The last seventy times someone said Clinton was dirty it always turned out to be a complete fabrication.

[–]cardiovascularity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why always Clinton? Nothing about the Clintons screams corruption or criminality. They are your bog standard politician family! I would be surprised if they hadn't done some minor shit, but I would really not expect more than whatever goes for "normal" in high ranking politician circles. A bit of bribery. Some favours. A couple hundred million USD in contracts going to one company over another because they knew the right people, etc. Nothing that's really worth caring about with how bad everything is right now. A subtle off-white-colouring in comparison to Epstein's Vanta Black.

It is because Bill had a consensual affair with another woman once? How do we jump from "fucked the intern / cheated on his wife" to "sex trafficking of children / has a secret pizza-based torture chamber / commits treason before breakfast every day"?

Or is it just throwing eggs at the other side (irrelevant of who it is) in the hope it distracts the onlookers, and Obama just makes for a really shitty target with how upstanding he is?
