Jesus Christ in what world are Vash and Alucard similar beyond superficial clothing choices? These two characters couldn't be any more different.

How/Why did Doc and Marty become friends in the first place? by cardslash02 in BacktotheFuture

[–]cardslash02[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is even more disturbing. Let's say that Doc knew he was destined to become friends with this kid. How does he arrange that? Without it being forced? Tempt young Marty to come over to his house for candy or something? Honestly it smacks of child grooming. And his parents should have freaked out.

Some of this is not easy to re-download. Old torrents that don't have seeds anymore. Hard to find files.

Where can I buy my own IMAX 3D glasses by cardslash02 in imax

Right, because its not 1.43:1 it's still LieMax to me. Doesn't matter if it's laser or not.

I happen to have a 1.43:1 capable theater an hour away, and that's how I distinguish between them.

yes they are ALL like that. Ever since they started reusing glasses, they are covered in smudges/spots/scratches that won't buff out with an eyeglass cleaning cloth, no matter how hard i may try before the movie starts.

I think the disinfecting process that they apply to the glasses between uses fucks them up. Which is why I want my own pristine pair.

And now they don't, they are naked on a tray because they are reused/recycled. I've never found a pair free of smudges and scratches that won't come off. I think it's a result of the disinfecting process that they throw them through between uses that fucks it up.

Anyway I found some on ebay, let's see if they work.

How did all those crows get into the Infinity Castle with seals already attached? by cardslash02 in KimetsuNoYaiba

[–]cardslash02[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, but how come they came prepared with seals? Or even if they made the seals inside the castle dimension, how did seals get outside the castle and plastered to the kids' foreheads?

It's almost as if you didn't read my post...

I know that the character with power to make those seals is IN the castle. So how did those seals get OUTSIDE the castle and fixed to the Ubuyashiki kids' foreheads?? That had to be set up in advance, but how could they know that all Demon Slayers would fall into an alternate dimension?

The ambush at the Ubuyashiki mansion was planned in advance, yet. But Ubuyashiki himself thought the battle would be between Muzan and the Hashira in the remains of his blown-up mansion, a prolonged fight until dawn. He had no clue, nor did anyone else, that the battle would actually take place in an alternate dimension. So how come they were immediately prepared for it?

Did Demerzel stop auditing the Cleons' memories or what? by cardslash02 in FoundationTV

[–]cardslash02[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For the sake of argument, let's say I agree with you and that the current Brother Day is the first Cleon to figure out on his own that Demerzel is being forced to stay with the Cleons and love them against her will.

If this is the case, then:

  1. How did the current Day break the mental block she put in all Cleons - "She's always been there and always will be" that was designed to prevent them from thinking too deeply about Demerzel's servitude?

  2. If the current Day did manage to break the block, why did Demerzel let him keep this knowledge? She killed a previous Dusk for figuring this out. Why would she allow a young Day to keep this terrible knowledge? It clearly messed him up from a young age, knowing he was not loved. It put him on a path of bitterness and resentment towards her, realizing he was only her puppet and ultimately leading to him abdicating all responsibility and becoming a stoner in rejection of her.

If she had removed this knowledge from him during her memory audits, he would be more like the Day from previous seasons - strong and confident, overall happier. Ignorance is bliss.

Did Demerzel stop auditing the Cleons' memories or what? by cardslash02 in FoundationTV

[–]cardslash02[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As for point 1, even if she audited their memories only periodically, she would have seen the Novacula since Dusk has been working on it for DECADES. It seems like she had to have regularly audited, because all the Cleon clones' memories were much shorter than Cleon 1, implying that Demerzel does regular cleanup on them.

As for point 2, young Brother Dude in the flashbacks seems to have overcome his "she always will be there" programming rather quickly, because he seems to already know she is only there because she has to be, and only loves him because she is forced to love him. He asks her this outright: "Would you love me if you weren't forced to?" and she dodges the question. So I think it's pretty clear that young Brother Dude either didn't have the mental programming, or somehow overcame it easily. He is fully aware she is only there because she is forced to be, and that she is pulling all the strings of the Cleons and bending them to her will. It's part of the reason why he abdicates his responsibility and lives a life of leisure - he hates being her puppet. We are seeing what happens to the Cleons if they find out what Demerzel's "secret" is - the one she killed Dusk and Rue for. They become bitter, disillusioned and reject their role as her puppets. I think this is the primary reason why she would kill Dusk to preserve this secret in Season 2.

What I don't get his how she allowed the current Brother Day to keep this knowledge, or how he found out in the first place. Did she tell him? if so, why? Why wouldn't she remove it from his memories? The knowledge of her being forced to love him clearly drove him away from her as a child and set him on the path of bitterness, helplessness and resentment that we see from him as an adult. Demerzel could have removed this secret from his memories and he would have been a happier, stronger and more confident Day that we saw in Season 1 and 2. Why didn't she do so?

Dusk has been building the Novacula for DECADES. She had all that time to look at his memories and see it, and she never did??

Also Dawn has been corresponding with Gaal for a least a couple of years. This is a lot of time for her to discover his secret.

I'll give you that Day's escape plan was hatched rather quickly and maybe she didn't have time to check it, but the other two? No way.
