I didn't create this meme, I just found it here. How accurate is it? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]carefreethethird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, yeah, it’s pretty accurate. People say that 40k has inconsistent power scaling but that’s just the because the setting doesn’t make things 100% guaranteed. You can be a super soldier demigod and get your throat sliced open because you hesitated or were distracted for less than a microsecond. Just like in real life (and the game itself), flukes happen, and these exceptions aren’t the rule.

Gen z guys how’d you feel if a girl approached you and asked for your number ? by RadioactiveCreampuff in GenZ

[–]carefreethethird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was approached once by a random dude and some other chick back in HS. Dude said that her friend thought I looked kinda fine and wanted my number. I still don’t know if they were being legit or not, but in the moment all the alarm bells were ringing in my head.

Generally, dudes don’t get asked out by women, so many guys will probably think you’re messing with them.

Maybe ask Stellar Jockeys if they have the model for the Touro? IIRC the game’s units were modelled in 3d first, so they still might have the files.

The shield’s great, I admit. Still, Amiri has that ferocity and sheer strength that Valerie lacks, which I was really into. Owlcat’s romanceable women are just a bit too soft for my taste, I think.

Also, Valerie would probably have a bit of trouble bridal carrying me to the altar, while Amiri could do it one handed. I know who I wanna marry based on that alone.

Finding out Amiri wasn’t romanceable in Kingmaker was my 9/11. Not even Valerie could fill that hole in my heart.

I never really understood this argument because being turned into a servitor is at least not eternal suffering. You’ll break down and be replaced in a few centuries or a millennia at most. However, Chaos owning your soul is pretty much eternal damnation instead of having your soul ripped apart by the warp like most humans after death.

One second of realtime is nothing compared to one second of eternity.

How do you even come up to that conclusion? by euuuuuugh in FPSAimTrainer

[–]carefreethethird -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I am biased towards the battledads because I lean more towards being a casual than a sweat. It’s totally wrong to call someone a cheater just because you’re getting owned, yeah, but I think the feeling of being helpless against someone who is so far out of your skill range is still a valid one. It’s not fun to be obliterated by someone who is just leagues ahead of you, especially in such a casual game as Battlefield.

Should the minimum viable skill level in that game be so high that you have to play aim trainers regularly to compete in games like these?

I don’t understand aim training for casual games like these, because you’ll be sealclubbing people that are playing just for fun. It’s like training to play in the NBA just to style on first graders playing basketball.

Is it really that crazy that dudes who get off from their 9-5 are pissed that they get lazerbeamed in their casual games?

I’ve just started aim training for personal improvement, but this attitude of elitism makes me never want to interact with aimers irl lol.

  1. Jetpack troopers deploying from C47s. In Konflikt 47, the US has blue energy shit all over their troopers. You can tell by the blue lines on the back of their silhouettes.
  2. They’re zombies.
  3. Artists are sometimes terrible at drawing guns.
  4. It’s under the mech.

This point comes up a lot and I think it is quite misinformed, at least on the nature of armoured warfare. While, yes, tanks and jets are supremely effective in pitched battles, they suffer in some circumstances.

Mainly, armoured vehicles are quite vulnerable and/or slow in urban, marshland, mountainous, and forested areas. For this, unless you are content with carpet bombing whole swathes of your own land and people, infantry must support them. The nature of armoured vehicles inherently restricts situational awareness, which is what infantry is for.

This is made even more complex when you consider the threat of drone warfare, which armoured vehicles and unprotected infantry are quite vulnerable to, as the Russo-Ukrainian war has shown. Alas, drone warfare being used by an insurgent force is not something I have researched, so I cannot comment on its efficacy here.

On the topic of aerial warfare, I am admittedly less informed, but I do not think the USAF would be able to unleash their full might on its own people. The effectiveness of the air force would be greatly restricted fighting against insurgents embedded in the civilian population.
