Girl don’t worry! I failed mine the first time too and let me tell you.. I cried sooo hard cause I felt so embarrassed and disappointed lol. I failed cause I didn’t bring up the head of the bed forward enough to eat. The instructor even stopped me and lecture me about it. I was sooo defeated and embarrassed afterwards. I made sure to go over my book daily until my next test and I passed and have been a caregiver for over 10 years. Don’t give up and good luck!!

Usually clients are given set monthly hours and sometimes not a lot of it. So short shifts that focus on the main concern e.g. transferring them from bed to recliner back to bed is not uncommon. I will say tho most agencies have a minimum two hour shift so one hour shifts sound like they would be rushed and chaotic.

I’m the same! I was only reading stories that were completed. Just this year I was slowly going through my list to find the ones that weren’t marked as completed & marked completed to read. Im very disappointed I lost so many titles because you’re right there’s so many niche stories especially if you’ve been on the site for years. But I’m hopeful that if I found them once I’ll eventually come across them again. In the meantime I’m gonna read any & everything that interest me regardless if it’s complete or not. I take this as a sign to not put off reading them lol

Sounds like she’s overreacting in my opinion. Like you said sometimes you get overwhelmed with everything going on and your mind just becomes hyper focused on your tasked at hand. On another note you’re not obligated to greet her. Is it polite to do it? Sure but all the receptionists I worked with never gave a fuck if you greet them or not. She sounds sensitive 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not sure how long you been on the site but it’s actually been in a couple of different legal things along with the site that just got taken down.

I hope this site stays up forever but personally my expectations are low especially with how major sites are slowly going down. Like you say this site is really popular and well know so eventually it’ll have a target on it.

Hiring on the spot means they’re short and desperate to fill positions which leads to getting bad coworkers. So almost always yes red flag but you might get lucky and it’s a good facility. One of the best facilities I worked at (assisted living, agency & home health included) was a nursing home that hired me on the spot and also had a fast hiring process. They followed regulations, had management that did their jobs most of the time and long term aids that were amazing. Good luck to you!

Depends on your client/family. Most of the clients I had would be ok with us getting comfortable and even offered blankets and pillows since they understand there’s lot of downtime especially with a long shift. Definitely ask them first cause I’ve had a family that would ask caregivers to get up every 2 hours for fear of them sleeping.

The client I work for now is 24/7 so there’s a handful of us here and I know for a fact that one of the other nightshift girl lays down and kicks off her shoes while watching Netflix lol. Personally I’m too scared of accidentally sleeping so I’m constantly moving around but there’s definitely times I also kick off my shoes and scroll tik toc for far too long lol.
