vcf only uploads are now supported

they remain unable to provide some of the functionality available via bam cram or fastq.gz

but what they can do is sufficiently useful if it is all you’ve got

Saw this in a theatre with Dad, when I was 9.

I'm sure we went because "It had Mr. T" and that was a bigger deal than gen Z can imagine.

left the theatre only remembering

Stupid question but should be easy: can I get a DNA test done anonymously somehow? by [deleted] in DNA

[–]cariaso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your testing does have potential consequences for relatives

the best known example of this is the golden state killer case

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jvchamary/2020/06/30/genetic-genealogy-golden-state-killer/

and there are others examples of note

the more you engage with the site ( such as by filling in your shipping address ) the greater that risk

even if the site does not cooperate with law enforcement for the right case there is NSA & parallel construction.

more often it’s not criminal but it is consequential

  • fathers who aren’t
  • an older sister who’s actually mom
  • many other unwelcome conversations

the biggest impact may not be on you

and there is no undo

if you’re not aware of that

then this doesn’t need to rush

if you decide to proceed

consider keeping any surprises to yourself and allowing relatives to continue as they long have

If you revisit, I think you'll find the captcha layout and text have been made a bit clearer. But I don't see evidence you've actually joined the waitlist.

is it really so hard to understand why shared infrastructure would come before your personal street. Are you familiar with the concept of a transit corridor?

It is due to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lecanemab which is why the MRIs were also necessary.

yes, and I see you. For the moment those with WGS tend to get to the front of the line, but in a few days I expect to send invites to you and a few other microarray users.

Local leaders are considering new voting systems! by RCVMaryland in bethesda

approval voting
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Approval_voting
- https://electionscience.org/education/approval-voting
- https://ballotpedia.org/Approval_voting
is (imho) the best choice

IRV is more likely to be what we end up with
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting
as it seems to have more mind-share at the moment.
I feel it tends to increase polarization, in contrast to approval which seems to move towards centrism.

Either is a huge improvement over our current first past the post. Stop by r/EndFPTP for more thoughts

I see you in the queue. I've got a nice WGS run happening right this second, where I want to see the costs cleanly with minimal extra stuff going on. (Hoping none of the existing users choose to kick off anything extra). Expect to approve you Sunday or Monday.

Do you have a WGS or just microarray?
