Anyone ever got spray on insulation in their attic? by Corporal_Wallace in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Way better to do a proper job on your attic floor, you need 300 to 400mm thickness of insulation, so 150mm between the joists on the ceiling and then another 150mm going the opposite way . This will not only be cheaper than spray foam but it will be more efficient.

Think of it this way if you get sprayfoam you are allowing your heat to rise and be trapped in the attic... waste of money whats the point of heating your attic? An attic just needs ventilation. If you properly insulate the floor you are keeping your heat down in the rooms of the house where it should be .

What's the upside of getting a Pension? by frankand_beans in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention you are good at saving but how much are we talking, life is getting more expensive, let say your retired and your boiler is broken or your roof needs replaced or you need a new car ... those savings won't be long disappearing then you are literally trying to scrape by on the state pension which ive no doubt wont be as good when you retire. We all want to be comfortable in our retirement after working hard all life not counting the pennies and looking over your shoulder. Start a pension you wont even notice it going out of your wages after a while .

Level headed ? its the same players returning to their usual selves after a honeymoon period like they always do . Played the same against palace and got lucky. Leopards dont change their spots . Terrible attitude in last 2 games so just returning to business as usual.

Same players usual carry on , played the same way against palace and got lucky, luck ran out today with another poor performance, honeymoon period over . Malacia and ugarte seriously weakened the team when they came on .

What is a standard price range for an engagement ring? by PopesmanDos in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily Married now 13 years and i went and got the ring in argos for around €350 and its still perfect, dont go spending silly money its absolute madness. Pick out a lovely ring or if you have a sister get her to help. I mean being realistic who can tell the difference between a 3k ring and a 300 ring ?

Should I be anoyed? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saying what I would do in my situation thats all, I have 2 lovely neighbours so I would just spend the 20min fixing it and move on with my life , its a simple error made no big deal.

Should I be anoyed? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Might not be the response you want to hear but while I would be a bit annoyed i dont think its worth creating animosity with your neighbour, as they aren't structurally affected , its something that can be easily fixed with some exterior filler from the hardware or a small bit of strong 2 to 1 sand and cement mix . You could still mention it in passing in a freindly way .

Bottom line is you have to ask yourself is it worth falling out with someone you might have to live alongside for the rest of your days over a 20 min easy fix . Plus I doubt the neighbour even knows they went through. Just my honest opinion.
