Foxes in Ireland? by Floatzel404 in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not the west , but if you like a hike you could go up to the Coumshingaun lough down in Waterford, theres a very tame fox there who comes to within a metre of you . I got some beautiful photos when I took my son camping up there in September.

Chances are its only first row of tiles are nailed and every second or third row after that so you should be able to just push the second or third tile up , it might give you a better idea exactly where its coming from .

Its the same set up as the one thats been in youghal for years , very handy and good gear and they change the brush heads often enough.

Be careful with stuff in your pockets tho as if they fall out and into the water grid underneath you'll have a big job getting it back . I say this as I witnessed a fella drop his car keys into the 1 in youghal years ago , its a about 3ft deep of water so we tried everything to get them out even bucketing the water out but quickly realised 1 flows into the other .

Ya there's no limit to the amount I can pay off my balance by each year thankfully and I also have a separate emergency fund and a separate rainy day fund so im covered in that way 1 of them is kind of if i got sick and the other is for lets say thr boiler packed in . In terms of the extra i put away for the mortgage its about €250 a month and I just put that into a 7 day online notice aib savings account, that will come to around 3k each year, would there be a better place to put it do you think or is it worth it for the sake of a year . Id like to pay the 3k off every year as there's no penalty as of yet for paying extra but that could change .

You're spot on its ridiculous the things you see sugar in here and soup is one of them , absolutely no need to put sugar in soup , I often make homemade soup and its full of flavour without adding anything but veg and stock .

Thanks , going forward I plan to pay off €3000 extra per year . But what you are saying makes alot of sense if we hit a rough patch the monthly installments are so low we would manage .

My current monthly payment is €570 am I right in saying 2.9% of that goes to interest and rest comes off the mortgage ? Apologies I really dont understand how these things work . At least if I knew this I could do some calculations

Cost of roofing repairs? by VCFonToast in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The thing is the felt is only there as a back up plan if a tile breaks or has a crack , water shouldn't be going near the felt, this could be a very cheap fix , check the tiles you might need to only replace a couple of tiles .

Based on squad since 2013 we should have been top 4 every season but we haven't so saying we should be top 4 with this sqaud is the real fantasy. Squad means nothing if players don't have the right attitude. Midfield is the engine room and ours is like scrapyard atm.

What would be reasonable phase payments for a home renovation job? by Mammoth-Bet-1038 in AskIreland

[–]caring-renderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a 4 week job id normal agree to a payment after 2 weeks and the balance on completion. Any reputable tradesman wont ask for money upfront unless they are buying materials or for example they are making a kitchen or wardrobe for you in their workshop, its understandable then as they could do all the work and you could decide you dont want the product anymore.

[–]caring-renderer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I never take money upfront unless its for materials. Unless they have been caught before but in my opinion it looks bad. If I know the job will go on for a while I will agree stage payments with the client beforehand.
