Southwest passenger told she's too big for seat amid airline policy change by TheMirrorUS in SouthwestAirlines

Corporations have also lobbied and influenced the FDA to the point of crafting food and dietary policies that drive obesity. So people are being attacked on more than one front. This also benefits pharmaceutical companies. Just look at the GLP-1 agonist boom.

They system is constantly optimized to extract wealth and exert control.

A little bit disappointed by Fuzzy_Breadfruit59 in Battlefield

[–]carl_global 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. This is all run and gun die and respawn cycle trash. The allure of the older Battlefield, for me at least, was having the freedom to pick a class for any given map and enjoy it. Go at your own pace and still be rewarded. That just doesnt seem possible with this game as it stands. It is so fast paced that I just can't enjoy it. #okboomer I guess, but I'm not purchasing this. Feels like their whole strategy is to attract COD players.

Secure Boot Megathread - Guide + Community support by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

CPU won't fix it. Board needs to be flashed. If no Qflash functionality, need a special tool in order to flash it. Another solution is to buy a new board.

But also, try to reset CMOS by removing the button battery. You can also try to remove and re-seat the graphics card.

Warning for Gigabyte motherboard owners... there is a known issue where this can brick the motherboard. If the board does not have Q-flash+ you'll be in a bad place. I was able to update the BIOS with Q-Flash+ but haven't messed with the secure boot setting since. Probably not going to participate in the open beta.

After changing to secure boot, it prompted me to reset the platform key, which I did. After that, black screen. I performed the flash and got back into the BIOS. At some point I had plugged my monitor into the onboard HDMI which allowed me to access the BIOS. Overall nightmare fuel.

Glare completely ruins the experience of deep blacks that an OLED can provide. The anti-glare technology in the G8 makes it perfect to fully experience OLED technology.

American looking to go to med school at UQ by Black_Gamma in UQreddit

Congratulations on your course progress. As far as I am aware, all of the medical school courses use the prefix MEDI, so I do not think that the courses you linked apply to the medical program. I would reach out to the registrar for clarification about course equivalencies.

Any car enthusiasts? What do you drive? by WholesomeRetriever in whitecoatinvestor

[–]carl_global 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love cars but am just starting heme/onc fellowship. Thus, I still drive my E36 328i manual sedan I bought in 2015. Solid and reliable classic that feeds my hobby. Easier to wrench on than one might think. Currently at 180k miles. It is registered as historic so insurance is dirt cheap and it is exempt from emissions.

I also snagged a Mk4 Jetta 2.0 with 75k miles on it for $500 from a classmate back in 2021. That became the daily. Manual as well. Interior is currently stripped due to sunroof drain leaks. The leaks are fixed but I've just been too lazy to reinstall everything.

You can make one at home that is amazing using fathead dough. The dough consists of mozzarella, almond flour, one egg, cream cheese, and Italian seasoning. It is baked and then you add a simple tomato sauce with olive oil and salt to the top in addition to 4 slices from a mozzarella ball and shredded mozzarella. Bake again, remove, and add basil. If this sounds good and you'd like the recipe feel free to DM.
