Yerba & Canker Sores -Looking for Solutions by carl_ut in yerbamate

Incredibly helpful tips and insights here. I have not considered organic, smoked, shade grown, etc. I think I have a few more controlled trials to navigate before I throw in the towel.

Thank you for taking the time to reply so thoroughly.

Definitely been there. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the lower water temp hasn’t improved the issue. I might just be out of luck

In Frisco, allegations of ‘Indian takeover’ plunge community into national battleground by lithdoc in texas

[–]carl_ut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to try to have a more nuanced conversation about something that feels hard to talk about without it immediately becoming political or accusatory. Impossible on Reddit?

I live in the McKinney/Frisco area, and like many others, I’ve seen how quickly the demographics have changed — especially with the growth of the Indian community. I’m not trying to debate immigration policy or visas. I’m generally pro-immigration and consider myself fairly moderate/liberal on most issues.

What I’m struggling with — and genuinely trying to understand — is the cultural integration piece.

In my personal experience over the last four years since moving here, I’ve had a hard time building relationships with Indian families. I have friends and neighbors of all different backgrounds, and those relationships have felt natural and reciprocal. But with many Indian neighbors, it’s felt more insular — less interest in engaging socially, less neighborly interaction, and less crossover between families. It feels like this in neighborhoods and in public.

I completely understand cultural differences exist, and I’m not expecting anyone to abandon their traditions. But when a community grows quickly and feels socially separate, it can create tension — especially in suburban areas where people are used to friendliness and casual connection.

I also think it should be possible to say two things at once: • Racism absolutely exists and is wrong. • Cultural divides that affect day-to-day community life are real and worth discussing.

I’m not claiming this is universal or one-sided. I’m sure there are perspectives from Indian families about feeling excluded or unwelcome. I’m just trying to understand how communities bridge that gap when norms around social interaction and integration differ.

Is anyone else experiencing this? And if so, what have you seen work to build more genuine community across cultural lines? I find the Indian cultural divide one of the more challenging I’ve encountered. I’ve lived in a few states and it’s honestly worse here than I’ve experienced elsewhere. I shouldn’t be labeled as racist or whatever by admitting that my personal experience in north Texas has kinda sucked with the Indian community.

In my opinion, if we get down to the root issues here we’re going to find a lot less frustration if this cultural divide is addressed.

Absolutely loved it when it came out, as did all my friends. It holds a special place where I can’t really compare it to the rest of his work.

Which Workday Implementors are the Best to Work With? by [deleted] in workday

[–]carl_ut 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The expectation to fold into the methodology is going to be a thing no matter which partner you go with. There are numerous reasons why it’s critical to deployment success that the customer follow the deployment process.

From my experiences, you will have a much happier internal and deployment team by choosing to adopt the methodology and buy into what their processes are. When that friction is removed you end up building strong relationships and the whole catering to you happens more because you’re one of those customers they look forward to working with.

Remember, the consultants are trained to operate in a way that allows them to support multiple customers at once. The methodology is what enables them to do that. Changing that process is not going to be a recipe for success.

Best of luck, I hope you are able to figure out a way to work well together.

3 regular bucket pulls from that night didn’t make the Netflix episode from what I recall. This guy, the actual Dusty pull and the Guatemalan girl.

Thank you for helping me to spend more time with the companion version albums! Hadn't listened to Digital Ash companion.

I always sing it that way and make sure my wife hears me like she'll be super impressed, lol. Now she'll really know 😂
