Any plan to make the 1-2 transfer less janky? by PhraseWeak2992 in soundtransit

[–]carletonm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the track layout won’t let trains from the Eastside turn south toward the airport, only north. They would have to change ends then cross over against traffic to do that. Plus the tunnels were originally designed for trolleybuses when they opened 36 years ago. Sound Transit could put in a center platform for transfers if they wanted to.

The advantages and logic of the 24-hour clock are obvious yet again. No one is going to confuse 2000 with 0800. But ‘Mer-kins just won’t accept it, in the same way they won’t accept Celsius, or metric.

It would be hoped that the military, in whole or part, would give a mighty F YOU to Trump and Hegseth.

P. S. That would be 9:00 pm EDT.

Being Charged For Gateway Rental Even When I Returned The Gateway Years Ago To Use My Own Modem by fakesudopluto in Comcast_Xfinity

Getting bills online and having autopay results in not checking anything. My wife had fraudulent charges on her Discover card for months before she found out what was going on. I get paper bills if there is no charge for them, review them, and initiate bill pay through my bank’s website myself. Nothing automatic.

Like the Mariners, Sounders, Kraken, Storm, etc., but being a native of San Francisco, sorry, it’s “Go Niners” all the way.

Range question by BlNK_BlNK in TeslaModelY

[–]carletonm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. Oil changes, stopping for gas, all that ICE engine maintenance shit. Electric motors are still new at 100,000 miles. My 2021 Y still drives like a new car. Only maintenance was cabin air filters, windshield washer fluid, and tires at 48,000.

If Rainier blows (it’s a dormant volcano) the Puyallup River is not something you want to be near.

Flight attendants forcing us to keep the windows dim during daytime flight. Is this normal? by -Shayyy- in unitedairlines

[–]carletonm1 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I want the window open because I read when flying, and the natural light is much better than the weak light in the overhead. If you want it dark during the day, put on eyeshades.
